HM Quickshifter & Annitori RL Quickshifter
10/23/11 6:37 PM

I had a Dynojet quick shifter and was happy with it BUT always felt it could be better. Now that I bought a new bike I have purchased many things to accessorize it with and can't decide what shifter to get. I have been speaking to a distributor (Paul- Annitori Distributing) and he has been giving me a ton of information about the HM Quickshifter and Annitori RL Quickshifter. Does ANYONE have any experience with these Quick shifters? It looks great, sounds even better but frankly $550 or $275 is not a give away by any means. I like the idea of not having to deal with a "switch" to activate the Horn button as a shifter and you never have to think about doing anything (I have been looking at air shifters too but don't want to deal with a tank & onboard compressor). Any thoughts or experience with the HM quickshifter or Annitori RL Quickshifter would be appreciated.

I was thinking about the Dyno Jet quick shifter also. What didn't you like about it?

Well I am bias against the Dynojet quick shifter, because I am on the 3rd one. The zx14 setup is antiquated, unless you install rear sets then it is much better. I love it when it works, and it usually does..... But when it doesn't, it makes me cringe. Have had it not work at some precarious times....

For the new 14, I already bought restarts and since I was going to get a PCV, I would also need an ignition module to run the quick shifter which gets expensive (PCV $300, IM $300, QS $250). I have read great things about the HM Quick shifter and basically it is going to cost the same as the Dynojet unit for the 2012 ZX12, unless the PC3 will work. What I failed to mention about using PCV with Dynojet unit is that you are able to set shift delay in each gear which is nice.

I was looking at the MPS "complete" kit and it is still a possibility. Tobefast.com has it for like 500.. Ram, tubing, kill, auto shift, tank, compressor & ZX14 harness. Still a possibility actually. The more I read about the quick shifters the more variables there are.... I love the fact that the PCV can adjust the shift timing PER gear, The HM Shifter is actually used in Moto GP by a few teams... That says something right there. It's not cheap but you pay for quality... No matter what it looks like I'm going to have to shell out $500ish for a good quality shifter. We only live once so might as well enjoy it .

Are these all electric except for the MPS Romans mentioned? The little bit I looked into this, seemed electric was best. Love to have one on my 14.

Well I went with the HM Strain Gauge shifter from Annitori Distributing they are the distributors for the USA, so for this piece of equipment there will be a wait regardless. A delivery is expected before Christmas. so hopefully it will only be 2 more weeks waiting... Disappointed.

Spoke with Paul yesterday, he is one of these people no matter how angry you are... You end the conversation with a smile... Very pleasant individual, and a good guy. What I failed to mention is I did get an inside price for the unit, shift rod and shipping. I was dead set on this unit because this is the exact one that 34 out of 36 moto GP teams use, so you know it's not a piece of shit and should last someone like me a lifetime.

I had a dynojet quickshifter.. then an MPS airshifter, then added the auto air shifter package from MPS. I highly recommend it!!! If you wanna fly! It's just a natural progression.. faster is always better.

Shifter finally on the way, gave me another discount for the troubles associated with this order... Satisfied, and happy finally... funny how shit works out in the end... LOL

Did you receive your shifter yet? I am going through this exact same crap with Annitori. I ordered the shifter nearly two months ago (this was for an R6, not ZX-14) and they never told me it was delayed, then failed to provide me with a tracking number after it had supposedly shipped, then provided me with an incorrect shipping number and after my last phone call told me it would ship by the 19th. Still haven't received it. I think I am going to demand a refund at this point. If it was just one case I can understand, but it seems those guys can't be trusted and do this to all their customers.

Got my shifter, it is installed and working AMAZING... Yes and they sent me the correct length shaft (100MM ) but they gave me 2-50mm sections which I could not use with the hardware they gave me...
They gave me 3 pieces of threaded rod to join it all up, needed 4... Hopefully you understand from my shitty illustration:

HEIM Joint <rod> HM unit<rod>50mm shaft <rod>2nd' 50mm shaft <NO ROD> HEIM Joint

I went to Long Island Kawasaki, and they pulled a shift rod off a 250 Ninja which was what I needed to get going, have one on order from Dynojet. It was a pain in the ass but I was offered a $50 discount.... Shifter is REALLY small and you will be happy with it once its installed. Call Paul, he is the one who helped e out...

This what you're looking for? Keep in mind that is the linkage off a Ninja 250, Long Island Kawasaki people really go above & beyond... They took that off a brand new bike on the floor so I can get my shifter hooked up... How many dealers do that for their customers? Not many I would guess, that's why they are my go to shop for everything.... Just really great people over there!

The Dynojet Universal Tie-rod MALE M6 to MALE M6, is a good fit with vortex rearsets. Motomummy has the HM unit for $500, I am very happy with it. Did 60 miles thrashing on it and did not miss one shift. For the 14 with vortex rearsets, 80 sensitivity, 60-65 kill time seems to work very well. Obviously I am still testing this but from what I have seen so far, it is a very well made unit.... Dynojet quick shifter is a bag of shit compared to this.
