First Big Thanks to you Romans you kept me on the right track, (moments of despair!) and for the good info from the experience that you have come across with this mod..
All the little tweaks and mods has been a great help thanks!

Your most welcome Grin. Glad to hear you never gave up. Nice to have Forum Help. Cheers

After a few mins think about the situation I decided to swop turbos I have two spare,

Wow, sure sounds like oil pump flow was reversed ???

What Turbo are you Running Now ????????

Yes, I have PC3 Maps,,,,

Do you have AFR Gauge ?

What is your Fuel pressure ?

Boost Gauge ?

Going boom if you answer No to any of the above and use a Map NOT TO YOUR SET UP.

Tell me what you have Now and I will Help you get started

Cheers Romans thanks again,
Right I still have same turbo, (vf36) I believe, spec C Subaru Imprezza japanese market upgrade used as rally car turbo. Better response and ultimate power. Changed compressor housing and exhaust. It normally comes with twin scroll exhaust and cranked over outlet pipe on the compressor housing....

Wow, sure sounds like oil pump flow was reversed ???
Yep, spot on I did that when messing with oil flow......by mistake Ill get it rebuilt, the company I mentioned in an earlier post can still get the seals for them.

Do you have AFR Gauge?
Yes, Motec

What is your Fuel pressure ?
I have been running between 38 and 42 psi as we discussed earlier.

Boost Gauge?
Yes same style as fuel pressure guage, Marshall o-15psi

821RRFPR

255l/ph fuel pump , in excess of 90psi available.

PCIII usb.

I appreciate boost characteristics may well be different in respect of onset of boost etc but even a detailed knowledge of AFR at certain places in the range would be good to know , Hub mentioned, and I totally agree dyno is next port of call and I will do. I just want somewhere in the range to start for myself so that I can get it closer, so it does not go boom on the dyno, set it rich and safe.........anything you have would be good to study
thanks again

I'll bet seals are still ok, oil in Turbo takes long time to clean out. Just a thought may save you some doe ?

My AFR table goes as follows;

OFF Boost = 13.7 My Bike runs best at 13.7 - 13.8 based strictly on Exhaust note. She speaks to me lol.

Once Bike Starts in boost AFR goes to 12.3 and adding fuel to 11.8 at Full Boost

My Mid range #'s 6700 RPM to 9600RPM @ 11.5

This in my own set personal set up and by no means does it mean there is not a better one,,,,,, So, If you can find a AFR table built by a pro for all RPMs I sure would love to see it $$$$$$$$$$$$$$. But for now these AFR#'s will get you started SAFELY. Promise.l

If and when you do get to a dyno would love to see your map so as I can compare it to my own AFR #s. Lot's of guys blowing up on the dyno with Turbo Bikes so becarefull. Cheers.

Thanks alot for that it gives me some sort of target to aim for!
BTW I decided to stip the turbo I took off lots of oil all around the back of the compressor turbine where it mates to the centre housing seal looked good and there didnt appear to be damaged or pushed over......something amiss because the other one that is on the bike does no tleak at all.......
Ill post some pics for you to see....

Wey hey started doing a bit of base idle mapping today, fully warmed up had to remove loads of numbers from the base map supplied , I did say it was miles out but in order to get llambda 1.0 or there abouts (actual 0.96) 14.11:1 bit richer, right on idle had to remove 48 numbers just around that area, 0 % throttle runs sweet though now, sounds right too!
Had to stop because of a big ploom of smoke. flaming oil pump stopped working, looks like the expensive pump is on its way. Ill have a look at it tomorrow see whats wrong with it...........................

Im gonna have a look inside the pump, if I decide to keep with these pumps (which I doubt!) then whilst out on the road in the future Ill be able to fix it or swop it for a spare..............maybe!
In respect of oil I sent an e mail to a guy at Silkolene/Fuchs and with these modifications and the oil issues we have he recommended the 10w-50 in the Pro 4 plus range Im going to try it in due course......and will let you know.- once ive sorted the pump...Im not too keen on the 20w-50 long term, anyone had any wear issues? The manual says 10w-40 so thats close enough.
I can understand why people have had blow ups on the dyno , being a little impatient and eager to get towards full power runs, you have to be real careful, AS YOU SAID! Its quite a fiddle to get to the right numbers up down, let it settle, smooth it over, blip the throttle....sounds ok, good afr. Very time consuming.
Something to get on with over the christmas holidays

Lol, took me Months to tune it properly. Over 140 Maps. Funny part is On boost is Easy,,,, Off boost pain in ass.
Trick is to make a dual purpose map. Any time your not in boost street AFR#'s. Finding the line for your particular Turbo takes time. Lots of little tricks needed. We can talk about that soon as she is where you want mechanicly.

I suppose I have sometime over the winter to get somewhere near,Dont really want to go much longer than that Id like to start riding it as soon as I can, Nornally can ride all the year round even if it is around the freezing point!
I believe you are on a PCV, autotune and logger config, are you tuning that way or manually?
As you say I want to try and have the best of both worlds power and econonmy. Bit daft doing a turbo but I want to travel abroad into europe and do some touring..............as I have done many times on my other one which I now want to sell, for that I might even do a very mild map for about 4psi or so.
As for the scavange pump that really has cacked itself it seized the motor into housing .cant get it out......not sure why, obviously got hot. I took the pump assembly from the top of the body and those bits are ok ,no debris.
1 minute it was working fine then the next stopped and smoke immediately....nothing I can do with it.
(it may be something to do with all the turbo leaks, running with the ignition on with the pump not been fully lubricated........I think I am prepared to give another one a go(that is unless I can find one in stock like I pointed out)

Yes by the look of yours has PTFE gears and the other has brass....dont see any prob with either.
Did you have any info on the rear wheel I posted , a disc mainly for the zx12r rear wheel that that is 250mm in diameter or does the 12r rear caliper and mounting bracket for the rear brake fit the 14?

I managed to find out from EBC, they were incredibly helpful they are about 12 miles from me. The guy there cross referenced the centre and with the outside diameter I wanted (250mm) found it was fitted to the D series zzr 1100 91-01 so thats what Ill be getting zx12r wheel and hub,zzr11 rear disc, sorted
Need to find the 3 spoke front wheel that cam from one of the zx6s ....any clues???????

Nah, not yet been a bit busy with christmas stuff, Actually ive ordered one the same as came with the kit......from the original source.......
I hope all is well........
Im going to get the brass geared pump aswell just into mthe new year, Is it me or is everything rediculously expensive in the shops!!!!!

once I have it up and running again Ill swop the pumps and keep the small unit under the seat as an emergency spare.
The other thing I could do with is the top infill panels and then that ll be complete.
As you may have read I have been sourcing some three spoke wheelsrear from zx12 with zzr11 rear disc and zzr14 sprocket assembley.
Still trying to source the front Im sure someone said it came from a zx6 or 636.
Ive been also trying to clear my garage out, we built an extension on the houseand still have a few building materials ,windows and other bits in the garage to install and sort out so been a touch busy, its one reason why ive been so long sorting the conversion.(and work)
Anyway New Year Ill be able to get on with mappingand making sure its reliable........plenty to do.
Ill post some pictures in due course of the bike as it is so far,
Oh one thing I did want to ask you was the pump got really hot and wonder if it was the way it was installed,

It was the little black washer motor type pump mounted horizontal like yours on the bracket which is fitted on the right hand end of the crankshaft/(dont have any pics to hand) just had a look at your pic number00062 and I see mine was facing the other way around you can see the motor end pointing out to the right on yours. mine was mutch closer the exhaust down pipe!!!!(pointing towards the turbo) that explains it!
I will post a few pics shortly......
have you anymore of yours that dont have the fairing on I would also like to see your oil pipe routing arount the turbo both the run up to the oil pump and away to the sump, got the one of the sump thanks........
Take it easy and have a good christmas
