I was hoping someone would know if a zx6r is a much funner bike to do wheelies on then a zx14.

Zx6 is a great wheelie/stunt bike. Zx14 not so much.

Get a rear brake hand set up, crash cage, 12 o'clock bar, reroute sump and some
monster gearing and you'll be making YouTube videos before you know it!

Yes, my ratings order is going to definitely shuffle around a bit as I get the new trackday rubber broken in and make some final suspension tweeks. I can say this for sure, it is now becoming very difficult to split these bikes once they are all on track quality tires and suspensions recalibrated. It's like choosing between Rocky Road and Butter Pecan ice cream, both are excellent and it just depends on the mood you are in.

I took the ZX-14 out this morning for a good thrashing and this thing is amazing now, plush but controlled, handles corner entry braking loads without folding the front end and turns in like a 600, nimble but oh so stable. Midcorner it's locked on rails and corner exits are rocket like. On these roads it is very hard to beat this bike even with the latest gen literbikes sporting all the latest electronic tomfoolery. Who needs traction control and ABS when you have this much raw talent on tap?

OK, I'll get a few more rides in on all the bikes and then see how they stack up, taking lots of notes. No clear winner at this point which brings up a point I've been saying for along time now, there are no bad sportbikes anymore.

Whilst I'm not in the habit of disputing Mr. Caruso his list is patently false.

The Hub and I have discussed this supposed list over innumerable cheese danish and there can be no other conclusion. Cody confirms.

Hagrid Good Sir, please continue with your discourse, how could my list be patently false pray tell?

These are merely my subjective opinions and therefore cannot be invalidated.

I rode the '16 ZX-10R this morning on it's new sticky buns and it was sublime! The M50 Brembo brakes are stellar, suspension action and engine vibrations are buttery smooth, turn in and general handling is outstanding while the top end thrust is face melting. My only complaint with this motorcycle is the lack of low and midrange power, the motor doesn't even think about joining the party until the tach hits 8000 rpm, fix this and this bike would be unbeatable IMHO.

Just came in from a ride on the '12 CBR1000RR on it's new sneakers. My notes, brakes fall somewhere between the ZX-14 (weakest of the lot)and the M50 Brembos on the '16 ZX-10R (strongest). Good initial bite and modulation, just slightly less power overall than the Brembos but plenty enough. Suspension compliance was good with excellent turn in manners, good midcorner stability but was not finishing the corners as well as the 14 and the '16 10R. Feels like I need to raise the rear end slightly with some additional preload on the shock to keep from running wide on the corner exits. This bike has a strong midrange punch but felt lethargic overall compared to the 14 and ZX-10R, especially the ZX-10R which has a manic topend drive while the 14 punches hard everywhere.

Next up in the queue is the '11 ZX-10R, interested to see how this one stacks up against the 14, '16 10R and the '12 CBR1000RR.

Things are definitely changing in the pecking order, notably the '16 10r and ZX-14 have moved up in the rankings from near bottom but the differences are razor thin in reality. They are all bloody good really!

I'll be fair in my evaluation of the Ducati Rudy, who knows it might even move up a notch or two?

RE: My Sportbike Ratings Preference

Just came back from a twisty ride on the '11 ZX-10R, I believe we have a new winner here folks. Out of the four machines I've tested this week, the '11 ZX-10R is now in first place, the '16 ZX-10R has moved up to second and the '12 CBR1000RR and ZX-14 are in a tie for third with three bikes left to test. Next up in the rotation is the former champ, the '09 ZX-6R.

I can sum this bike up with this simple statement, the whole is greater than the sum of it's individual parts. It doesn't have the best brakes, that honor goes to the M50 Brembos on my '16 ZX-10R but they are nearly as strong, well modulated, with great initial bite. It is the lightest of all my bikes except for the ZX-6R which makes it very agile and flickable. The top end power is third next to the '16 ZX-10R and the ZX-14 but it has excellent low end, good midrange and strong top end rush with a very smooth, linear delivery that's easy to modulate on corner exits. The engine is not the smoothest, again that would be the '16 ZX-10R but it is very low on engine vibrations, on par with my ZX-14 and ZX-6R. The suspension compliance and corner entry, mid turn stability and corner exit are all top shelf, just a hair breadth less than my '16 ZX-10R again. It is when you combine all of these strong second and third place finishes with the most controllable and linear powerband, you get a bike that ticks all the right boxes and delivers the best overall performance and fun factor. If the '16 ZX-10R had decent low and midrange, the tables would be turned and it would be in the top slot.

OK, three bikes left to test, '09 ZX-10R, '15 Repsol Honda CBR1000RR SP and the '16 Ducati 959.

Kruz - Doesn't sound like you need the money, but you could be making videos of your reviews, post them on youtube and make money on them. You seem kinda similar to me, not lookin' to be some kind of online star, or whatever, but you could probably make the vids without actually appearing on-screen.

Just a thought. Not sure I'd wanna do it myself.

Ahh....the ZX-6R, just came back from a nice ride, roads were still damp in a few spots from T-storms last night but dry enough to put the hammer down.

The ZX-6R feels like a slightly more nimble version of the '11 ZX-10R, including a nice low and midrange (for a 600cc bike) but of course a bit down on outright pull compared to the big bikes. Brakes are almost there with the Brembos, suspension and handling are also top rate. The 6R did not benefit from the change to track oriented tires as much as the other bikes, they apparently needed more help while the 6R was always a star pupil in the cornering department. So the effect is they are all almost on equal footing now and the big advantage the 6R once held in the corners has narrowed to the slimmest of margins. Speaking of slimmest of margins, it is getting nearly impossible to split all of these bikes now, they are so close you could close your eyes and throw a dart and hit a winner but I think the 6R is now in the second slot, only because it's relatively strong low and midrange performance (for a 600cc) outclasses the '16 ZX-10Rs complete dead zone below 6000 rpm.

Next up in the rotation is the Mighty Duck, curious to see how the 959 stacks up in this barroom brawl.

I've thought about it, my one and only foray into Youtube stardom is coming up on it's second anniversary and has exactly 893 hits to date, so not exactly an overwhelming response. I thought it was pretty well done with some decent action, good musical scoring and special effects but it's been a dud in the real world.

https://youtu.be/gsadM7EfS3A

In the meantime, these idiot vloggers get 32,000 hits in 10 days where they are driving around in traffic at low speed, talking about what their next motorcycle is going to be or what their girfriend (or mother) thinks about their new riding gloves. Boring BS but people seem to want that kind of content.

This got over 402,000 hits, I couldn't even watch this garbage it is so dull!

Yeah, I know. Who in the world would ever have guessed that some kid that goes by Pew Die Pie and records himself playing video games would be the number one youtube creator and a multimillionaire ... 54 million subscribers ... not just video views, subscribers https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-lHJZR3Gqxm24_Vd_AJ5Yw

Check this out ... 1 dum ass video ... 84 million views ... 1.6 million thumbs up, and only 43 thousands thumbs down ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRyPjRrjS34

Amazing.

I just went to a Pew Die Pie Youtube video to see what all the fuss is about, I made it less than 30 seconds and had to turn that crap off before I suffered permanent brain damage. Apparently something is very, very wrong with me if I am that far out of touch with the rest of the world.

Found this bad boy yesterday over at Eurosports in Plano, brand new 2018 S1000RR in Motorad colors for just over 1/2 the price of a V4S. This makes way more sense then the Ducati as they are a close match with the Ducati's only real advantage being it's exclusivity. For the $12,000 saved, one could do a lot of upgrades.

I've never been a fan boy of the S1000RR but this paint scheme really caught my eye and there is no denying how good the machine is.

Rook would approve...lol!
