Which work better for you and why?
I like bar end mirrors because they offer a cleaner smoother look. And they don't show my elbows in half the mirror. But the stock mirrors seem to do a good job.
So pro's and con's guys?
Thanks
Todd

Stock mirrors are great. Great field of view and you don't need to move your head much to see behind you.
Bar end make for a nice clean look. Have to move your head quite a bit to get a good look behind you and the objects are smaller and the general field of view is less. When I am wearing my glasses I can't just take a quick glance cause I can't see shit when I'm looking under my glasses so I have to really look down to see behind me. But I have the same problem with the speedo while wearing glasses too, being 6'2" prob has something to do with that issue. So basically with the these you clean up the look of the bike and less drag on the bike vs stock mirrors, no other real positive gains other than you're still "street legal". I like my bar end mirrors so far.

To me, mirrors are part of the safety system on the bike. I want the easiest and best possible way to see whats beside me and behind me. Small bar end mirrors don't do it for me. The stockers work great for me. At the beach I see guys in shorts and sneakers with the future x girl friend in tow with a single bar end on their gXers all the time, just not my style I guess.

Since I live in California and ride mostly here..........stock is better b/c I am allowed to go through the cars and narrower is better. Plus I don't like the mirrors moving about.......so fairing mount works for me.

Bar end mirrors are so cheap and easy to install, why not put them on and compare with the stock mirrors? The Chinese copies on Ebay are very close to the quality of the expensive CRG mirrors so I always recommend Chinese for $20 /set v CRG @ $160/ set. The glass is just as good and the joints are nearly as good or in son=me cases better.
The stockers are easier to see without moving your head. The Barend mirrors seem to show nearly as great of a field of view though I am sure it is directly related to the size of the glass and stock is bigger. My busa had big square mirrors and those were the best of anything for view.
I think the bottom line is "do you REALLY turn your head to look behind you?" If you don't, bar end mirrors might be a PITA for you. They work with a tilt of the head but I never trusted any mirror for changing lanes. I always turn my whole body and look behind me. Only way I am going to see something coming up behind me at high speed.
i recomend the bar end mirrors with folding stem. They do stick out a ways and it is nice to fold them out of the way for the safety of the bike. The hinge joint will fold back on its own from wind over 120 mph. That's the drawback to teh double jointed type but not exactly a constant problem for a street bike.
These are good. Hinge joint is not quite as tight as the CRGs I have, but the ball joint is just as good. Much cheaper and a few 10s ounce lightre than CRG.
Same thing, Says its for Honda but should fit and 7/8" bar. You will probably be using the mounting bung that is included so bar end diameter is irrelevant.
$20 w shipping here.
One issue, I did have a bit of a challenge to get the bar end weight on there with the bar end bracket. I do not know if it will fit with stock grips? NOt possible to install bar end weights with the adapter bung but that will def fit no matter how wide the grips are.
I use the bung on my busa w/out bar end weights

I had them on my Vmax and loved the bar end mirrors. Gave it such a clean look.
I also put them on the Turbo Busa, but they weren't as nice looking as I had hoped for. I had no mirrors on the turbo bike, so I needed something and the mirror block offs looked good I didnt want to put stock mirrors on.
The ZX I don't mind the mirrors, but if I took them off I think I would like it better as far as cosmetics. Plus you seem to get more vibration in bar end mirrors and the factory mirrors were showing a good picture even at extremely high speeds.
I might just remove them at the track and see what happens, but keep them on for street riding.
Thanks for the input guys.

Good point on the vibes, customizedcreationz. JMHO, seems like all motorcycle mirrors vibrate a lot more that a car mirror. You can see what's back there but not as sharp as a car rearview. To me, I do not notice any dif in clarity between bar end mirrors and stockers. I do not notice a dif in vibes running without bar end weights either.

The BW II had bar-end mirrors installed when I bought it. Couldn't see shit with them. Guess they satisfied the legal requirement for mirrors, but fortunately, the p.o. included the stock mirrors+mirror extenders, so I put them back on and sold the bar-enders and the mirror block-off plates.

I absolutely love my bar-end set-up. Noticeably less drag when goin flat out. And looks a lot cleaner. I always turn my head so it wasn't a big adjustment for me.

In my state, motorcycles aren't required to have mirrors. I have gotten significantly better visibility out of bar end mirrors on every bike I have owned except the ZX-14R.
The bar ends are convex mirrors, which means they provide a much wider field of view, at the expense of depth perception.
I like the stock mirrors on my 14R just fine and plan to leave them that way.
