Very cool! Definitely on the "list"...although from San Diego, I would need to either ship my bike or take some serious time off work! Better yet, BOTH!

I'm getting jazzed about going to the Dragon in a couple weeks. My dad, now 84 yrs old, will be on his new dyno tuned 400 Ninjet, and me on my 16 ZX14. He and I have been going since about 1990 when we read about it in one of the MC mags. We've been there on 1000 Hurricanes, XXs over the years. Dad's getting old and shrinking, sold his XX 9 years ago and got a 650 Ninja. We have also ridden the XXs and now my ZX14 and his 650 to Calif and back a few times over the years. But this will be our 1st time at the Dragon on the 400 and my ZX14.
My youngest brother and his '88 600 Hurricane and I will trailer to Chicago and pick up pops and his 400 and head to Knoxville for a few days on 9/6. Another brother is going to meet us there with his Dodge Ram filled with an RC51 and possibly his 250 Ninja, also.
As many times as we've been to Deals Gap and the area, we actually like the Cherohala better than the Dragon. Anyway, I'm not as talented at at the write-ups and pix as Kofla, so maybe not alot for updates.
Can't wait,

I’m in that area every Memorial Day weekend...from Indiana. Absolutely love it! Quite impressive your 84 yr. old Dad still doing it! Have fun and be safe!

I try to make a yearly trip down to the dragon. Its really a blast. Plus there are lots of other roads as well. Its really nice now that the skyway has been repaved. Been going down there since 2006 when I bought my busa. Now looking forward this year to head down in July on my brand new 14. Cant wait.

I wouldn’t mind retiring in Bumpfires neck of the woods!
