The fun factor is there for sure. They have a super low center of gravity. I only rode it one time and it was the day my dad got it I rode it home from the dealer. As far as performance mods he has a cobra self adjusting programmer, air cleaners and exhaust. I have seen him come up on a second gear power wheelie on a few on-ramps. Thats fairly impressive since my dad is somewhere between 300-325lbs I think. Put a sub 200lb guy on there and watch out!!!! I had a NINJA 650 twin cylinder and he could just about keep up with a full windshield from a 60-80 roll on(different windshield than he has now), and from a stop he had me no contest by a couple bike lengths until we were well over 100mph. That bike will flat RUN and it puts harleys to shame so bad its not even funny. The only thing that can touch it is the Triumph Rocket III and honestly that bike handles like shit from the factory. Just sitting on it at the dealer doesnt realy inspire confidence.

Cobra self adjusting programmer,

Darkarcher, lots to say here. But most probably shouldn't. I can go as far as telling you these guys all ride in a group. So very easy to learn what works. Cobra learns every time you ride, then does a reset based on time to distance as I understand it. Then starts the entire process again after key gets turned off. Some times works good other times puffs black smoke, seems to be always lost. Because you can't pick a set AFR table for performance tune I am not a fan.

Justin has now released software for the M109R. ECU flashing would be sweet after a tune of each cylinder. They do need a fair amount of adjustments. You need only to look at their PCV/PC3 maps to know. If your Dad pulls his plugs story will be told. Shhhhhh those guys are more passionate about there rides than we are(if that's possible). Might burn my house down lol

If want to see something funny take a look at a group like this and spot a Turbo Charged ZX14 lol I might look out of place, to funny.

Yea I'm not a big fan of not being able to select target AFR either, but its working for him for now. He did say there was an adjuster on it which he turned up a bit after installing the bigger air cleaners. He was having problems with it being jerky down low, but since moving the adjuster its smooth. Sort of seat of the pants accuracy. Way better than stock but not as good as it could/should be.

Very cool info regarding new flashing options.... I have been using Ivan's products for 20 years and never been disappointed. Need to give him a call and find out what's new and exciting.
Romans, how does your flash differ? Are you using that woolrich thing I have seen mentioned? Man I just looked at the pics on your other thread... Really feel for you.

Thanks Seno, Ya I have been kicking myself in the Nuts for last 3 days. Time to get over it. Totally bummed out, the bike did not even get one mile one it and she went down. What am I talking about,,, 5 feet backwards and Boom. I'm not sure if you play any video games but when the guy scream out "UTTER HUMILIATION" in the back ground this is the same.
I'm also hoping I didn't lose my New neighbor over this as well. Lost my cool a little bit, said some things I can't take back. ugh!

Are you using that woolrich thing I have seen mentioned?

Yes love the Woolich. I just finished Flashing my ECU with the woolich software before my bike went onto the Dyno. Awesome Stuff. Last picture I have before /////// the unspeakable happened

Thanks Romans for a truly flawless flash. Today was my first chance to test my new flash. All I can say is wow! So much smoother, feels like I have a couple extra cylinders. The power comes on so strong, but is more controllable than before. I truly laughed in my helmet, it so refreshing to not only have your expectations met, but to have them completely blown away. I couldn't be happier, so thanks again. If our paths ever cross drinks are on me.

This is the only flash I've ever had so I can't honestly say it's the best flash available, but I can honestly say I wouldn't change a thing. To anyone debating on whether or not to flash your bike I'd say go for it. We the consumer are very fortunate that there are some very passionate hard working guys out there that are really getting a handle on flashing these bikes. I know Romans flash is amazing, I know there are guys very happy with Cblast as well. I would urge people who demand the best out of there machine to contact these guys and see what they can do for you. It is money well spent for sure.

Finally got bike maintenance done. Bascially 15k service done at 21k. Here's my results.

History for reference, Bike setup at 7900 miles dyno done on 2/13
Brocks pair block off, two brothers slip ons,two brothers db1 sound tips, flys removed, stock gearing, stock wheel base, pc5 with custom map, pilot rd 3 with 300 miles on them: Here's the dyno chart:
200hp 113-114 Trq doesn't show afr but tuned to 13.1-13.5

w

2nd dyno done 4/14, 21k miles, bike setup same as above with following additions:
Romans flash no pc5, streched 10 inches, pilot rd3 with about 13k on them, full tune up andd valves just done,
Dyno results: 198hp 114-115 Trq doesn't show afr but is 13.1- 13.5

As you can see. This bike makes anywhere from 195-210hp with just bolts and and full system with whatever setup you chose. As seen from many dyno charts posted. What it doesn't capture is the difference in what a flash makes with how it feels in the lower 1-4 gears. I can tell you for a fact its neutered in the lower 4 gears. With Romans flash its a totally different bike in that range. Like brocks says..Stupid fast.
Its says dyno tuning on chart. No real changes done. just the way I marked chart.
Im so happy with it. I've put over 2k miles on bike since flash. Its a beast.
Thanks Romans. .

Stretching a bike will always hurt your dyno performance numbers.

Actually I'm very pleased with the results. Considering the dyno runs were done almost a year apart, hp and trq numbers are almost the same. 2hp less but 2 lbs more trq. What's hard to see in the chart's is that after the flash and the 10 inch stretch, looking at the the graphs the bike is making more power sooner, accelerating harder, and faster. 1st run took 5.161 seconds to peak out. Second run took 5.004 seconds to peak out. That's close to 2/10 of a second faster if im reading the chart's correctly. Riding on the streets I can definitely feel a difference in acceleration when running up through the gears.

Black you raise a good point about time to distance tuning. When I was running Romans flash I took my bike to get dynoed and managed to squeek 3 more horse on top. Cost me $250.00. I got on my bike rode down the street, got on the highway and got off at Roman's house and said "give me back what I had before" There was a noticeble difference in the way the bike perfomed, meaning: it felt down on power dyno tuned over what I had with my street map. People tend to get caught up on a big dyno number, but it doesn't necessarily equate to the fastest setup on the street. To confirm this Roman's threw the top end of my new dyno map on the bottom of his street map and I just ran the street map. Before we did all this he would creep on me being about 40lbs heavier. After, I pulled on him hard, and I mean 8+ bike lengths after pulls from the middle of third 3rd to the top of 4th.
Anyways sounds like your bike is smokin Blk - Enjoy that bad boy.

And so it was written, and thus began the race to build the largest turbo. He who shalt be ahead by 8 lengths shall rule the day!

The wallets shall empty, the license lost, and the mediocre shall be punished. And so it was written on this two thousand fourteen year of the messiah!

Mav,
Stretching the bike... dyno numbers... with 300hp avail on a turbo, there is very little chance for the set up stretch to be a disadvantage.

You read into that wrong Wolf. The drivetrain loss of a stretch will show up on the dyno vs. stock wheelbase. I wasn't saying that it was disadvantageous. However... I will offer to race you heads up when you finish your build. :) We are worlds apart as far as distance is concerned, but perhaps one day I can meet some of you northern guys.

This past week I road my bike up to Romans place for him to check out my 4-1 Brocks. As soon as i pulled up his place he said "man that thing runs terrible". He noticed i was running an 06 ECU with a 08 engine in a 10 frame.... talk about frankenstein. Long story short he walked me through the flash process and reflashed my 06 ECU to the correct 08-11. My bike let off a huge sigh of relief when we first started it. Without his knowledge I probably would have gone on riding the same way, not knowing the bikes true potential. I must say i was a bit of a doubter when it came to this flash business (always seems to stem arguments) but honestly i was really impressed by the results. And thanks for talking me into the 45R sprocket! What a blast... 2nd gear power wheelies FTW! UP UP UP and AWAY!

I highly recommend hitting up Romans with any questions you may have... even if it is just for his opinion on something. He has a vast knowledge of the 14 & 14r.

Thanks again Romes!
