Busa to ZX14 newby
09/10/14 10:00 AM

searching for a good forum to learn more of this ZX14. Had sold my 06 Busa recently and picked up this sweet little ride 08 midnight blue color with 6100 miles.. so far.. i am like thinking I should have went with ZX14 in the beginning. I've only put like 20 miles on it so far due to work but am feeling a big difference in the ride. just gotta get things together to pimp my ride how i like it. look for little things to make it even sweeter. will post pics n other things later since i am sneaking in here while at work...lol.. safe riding to all from Redding, Ca.

You're in the right place brother. There's a little bit about everything related to this bike and plenty of people whom are ready and willing to share any advise or knowledge.

Around town mine gets really hot as well, from what I've read it's a common issue.

Hello ppl im having trouble with my ecu fuse blowing...it sounds like a past topic but there was no solution to there problem my bike wasn't wet or anything ...but I noticed after an hour or so put a another fuse in its fine ..so what could it be?? My baby was in the shop for over 2 weeks they Road and tested her and they said she was fine. had lights on the bike from previous owner but didn't like the free wires strolled inside the frame so I took them off im not sure what it is but all I know is when I ride longer this happens..

Welcome to the club!

Sounds normal to me. 14s runs hot especially in stop n go/slower riding. I've seen mine at 208 or so (14Rs don't have a guage just a read out).

I'm always a fan of resetting maintenance stuff especially if you have no idea prior maintenance activity.

Welcome oneclassic, The ZX runs hot normally. Anytime i'm not moving faster than around 30 the fan is on. Been that way for 3 years now and no problems. My sister has a place up in Cottonwood near you. Maybe I'll see you up on 36 or 299 sometime.

Maddevil....thanks.. 36 is a decent road.. alot of roads here to ride in this Redding area.. so far am loving the transformation into the zx14.. previous owner put ZZR1400 decals on the tail end.. i like em so i left em on. no ninja decals so even better. I did run some blue led lights inside the fairings and man.. those pieces are one of the drawbacks vs the Busa.. oh and no storage at all.. the busa at least had one pc fairings and some storage.. even modded the hump for storage use. but am loving the ride so far with the ZX.... just need a front tire and have rim powdercoated black like the back one is.. ride safe everyone..
