Guys, I read on the Ivans site that he claims the gen1 Akra headers give a mid range boost over later large diameter headers without a parallel loss in top end power, has anyone tried this on their gen2 14? Header theory says a smaller pipe should boost midrange but I want to know if anyone has tried it themselves.
I currently have Two Brothers carbon slip-ons with stock headers, apparently these work pretty well but I would love something more serious and would prefer to make a decision and only do one tune. I happen to have a set of Akra 4:1:2 titanium headers from a gen1 but I thought the early headers didn't fit the later taller motor? Maybe I need to do my own dyno comparison but tuners charge a fortune over here .... and bolt on comparison dyno pulls wont tell the whole story without a proper tune for each system ...
I would love to test these side by side:
1. Stock headers and Two Brothers slip-ons
2, Akra (actually BROCKS CT DUAL) headers with the Two Bros or a pair of stainless Yoshis I have here (need mid pipes to fit them)
3. Brand name 4:1 - Alien2 or a Yoshi (not keen on the aud 2000-2500 price tags though)
I have been searching for a used 4:1 but they are difficult to find, so what do you guys reckon?
Any help would be great.
:)
