That's right, Ride Smart will be at Circuit of The Americas

June 1 and 2, 2013

Sign up begins December 20, 2012

$460
per DAY!

We anticipate registration will go quick.
We have arranged a slightly different format to accommodate demand for Circuits of The Americas in that

In order to make sure that everyone receives the same time on track as a normal Ride Smart trackday, you will be running
20 minute sessions, starting at 8:00am and going until 6:30pm with a lunch break.

Saturday, June 1st will also feature our Advanced Riders Course in Level 3.
In addition to the bike cam footage, critique and advanced riding instruction
there will be an emphasis on "Line Building Techniques" during this class.

We are also offering a 50/50 registration.
Put down 50% now and we'll hold your spot, you can pay the remainder by February 25, 2013 (plus a $20 service fee).

Registration opens December 20, 2012 at 12:01 am.

See our website for additional information about Ride Smart.

yeah, that's definitely a lot of mula. Though if you live in Austin, you can't beat the convenience. I love the layout of Barber and Road of Atlanta but to get there I would have to trailer and be on the road for a couple of days. We have other tracks just a couple of hrs from Austin but they're either real tight or too bumpy (not good for a ZX-14 track initiation). What gets me exited the most is knowing a corner intimately and seeing a MotoGP guy going through it like it's an after thought. I wonder how much it is at Laguna Seca?

Hey Drag, That's your local track or closest right? I read about what they did to Kevin Schwantz and now taking a dump on trackdays. That track was built with a significant amount of taxpayer dollars, that track day fee was outrageous California Superbike school is the same price! Seems like some rich guys used the 47%'s tax dollars to build them a playground. Sad very sad

Yep, I'm really disappointed I thought it was going to be a track by the people for the people, I even bought into the keep Austin weird slogan lol
I heard K S was trying to sue them but who knows... Even if he manages to win the case, it'll probably have exclusive right for track days and therefore obnoxious prices. I hope Austin doesn't turn into a little LA. That would be scary. In the meantime, I'm going to take my hard earned money to another state.

Well I feel ya on that one of my favorite tracks VIR gave the AMA the middle finger a few years ago they haven't been back since 2010. Now I have to go up to NJMP to see a race. Just read an article in RoadRacingWorld that compares BSB series to the AMA. The Brits blow us away. They are a motorcycle crazed country. If we only had 50% of the coverage and press AMA would be an awesome series instead what we do get is all the races replayed at midnight, or cut short for booorrrrriiinnnnggg NASCAR. And of course me being a trackday junkie to poor for a dvr (that money goes for entry fees and tires!

The track day orgs that have a signed and payed contract is looking like they are back on. The 4 orgs that haven't paid yet are out from what I've read.

Yeah I'm a big fan of BSB. The races are really exiting. The race between Hopper and Tommy is one of my favorite. BSB is actually more exiting than MOTOGP which is a shame.

I wonder which organizations are on for 2013! I wanted to hit that track early because I was thinking a lot of MOTOGP teams were going to send some undercover top riders there to study the track and record data. That could have been interesting to see.

Wish my org would venture out a little farther, really want to ride NOLA looks like a really nice track. Since they're based in Jersey that's probably out of the question. Pocono is back on the schedule as well as a brand new track in NY called the NY safety track. They say the safety track has 400' of elevation change from one side to the other. Guess I'll be heading north for a new track fix.
Drag their is a guy on youtube 666sicco that has all they BSB races and a lot of the roadraces like the TT, Ulster GP, and Southern 100 he has his own sight that has more. Check it out.

I will, thanks for the tip. I met a guy from New Orleans. Not sure I remember correctly but I think I heard him say that he dropped is 750 engine into his 600. He told me NOLA is really nice but Road of Atlanta was way better: Fast ascends turning into blind corners etc.

Looks like ridesmart is back on for COTA. It has yet to be confirmed though. Too much drama for me, I won't be holding my breath.

Yeah Road Atlanta is a great track 2 of my buddies rode there last year. Both of them wrecked! Yeah gixxer guys do that all the time, same frame. Another friend of mine wrecked his gixxer 6, cracked the case, they totalled it he bought it back. found a 750 for cheap with the wiring harness and put it in. He disappears down the straights. got something for him this year though. Reflashed the ECU on my R6, degreed my cams, BMC race filter PCV w/ Autotune. Pulled 122 to rear tire with a custom tune.

I think Laguna runs around $260-320 for a track day but they are the most expensive track we go to. Buttonwillow only costs you $140. I think Thunderhill is around $230? And at Laguna you have to run stock exhaust.

lol That's the last thing I need: I would go broke trying to compete with a friend. This is actually my biggest worry, more than crashing or anything else. If I get to much into it I may start pawning stuff lol

I wish they had the same prices here! I would be able to do 1 every month. I don't know why COTA is so much more expensive. Laguna is clearly a better track! I know Laguna Seca was build with cars in mind but I don't think it ever hosted F1. That could why COTA is so expensive. It's more F1 focused. That being said cars not bikes deteriorate tracks so you would think that allowing bikes would be a good way to make some extra money.

Yeah does get expensive but I only allow myself 1k a yr for both bikes on mods, Besides I did everything on it besides the reflash and got that done for $120 through a vendor on the R6 forum. He races CCS and AMA supersport. He's really got it nailed down. Guess it's location dependent for track fees. I've never paid more than $150 for a trackday. My membership is $300 a yr. Fri-Sun $150 a day, Tu-Thur $125. If you help setup and take down the airfences they give you a $50 track credit which helps offset the fees.

They are taking payments for track days on September 6th and 7th this evening at 6pm. First come first serve, so I'm going to jump on my bike as soon as I punch out and click refresh at 6pm.
It's $485 this time around but I've gotta put myself in Marc M shoes lol
