Well Chrly and Extrapolator, we've made up and we're back to being friends, just a friendly squabble! Nothing more to see here, so we can all move on now.
@Chrly, wow, that is tight, kinda reminds me of our county roads but no one rides them here due to gravel and dirt runoff and potholes, cracks etc. County road maintenance is beyond horrific around my neck of the woods, those look much better.

Kruz, a lot of our backroads were dirt logging roads now paved and widen ...some... :0 Do have to watch for rocks/pebbbles kicked out into the center of our lanes from cadges cutting corners. Here are two more then I will back outta here :) ...
Give you an idea of our elevation changes.. The first shot is teh 14 parked at the edge of a local twolane into the mountains..the second shot is looking to the right of the bike above. The lake level is about 600 ft when this was taken and I live at the edge of town, about ten minutes from the lake.
This is just the brief look at type of road available..

I have this one old road that scared the crap out of me. NEVER saw a cop there EVER. by the end of summer I was so much more confident about it. I was doing my speed runs out there for tuning. I knew where the holes and the gravel were....I really think the heat of summer makes the road flatten out, too. But the homes and the deer. I had one home owner pull up while I was fiddling with my laptop velcroed to the tank. He said HI and talked for a while. How could I be such a dick to to go tearing through there on a regular basis? Another thing about living in a small town, you are more or less friends with the strangers.

Doesn't sound like you are making friends..:)

And there we see there was more happening than the ninja sneak by. Looks like fun, Kruz. Watch out. once he gets to know those roads and gets his apexing down, he'll be all over your back tire. Yeah, i gotta get down there. Looks like you have better visibility through a lot of the corners compared to what I have here. Also some faster corners. I tend to like the slower ones best because I can enjoy them without shattering the speed limit. You must have some lazy cops down there, riding as much as you do and not getting tickets too much.

Rook, why won't my video link a few posts back embed? I followed the instructions above to the "t" and it doesn't work, just a black screen appears.
Thanks!

Kruz it's prob because of your link format. The basis of Youtube video links is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v={uniqueIDhere}
... whereas they have variations on the youtube.com part that cause the same video to play but in different ways, like forcing full screen, etc. The link you tried to embed has youtu.be which is valid but probably not recognized by this forum.
The unique ID for your video is gsadM7EfS3A
So, this text should embed the video for you: [utube]https://youtube.com/v/gsadM7EfS3A[/utube]
I added some bold in there to break up the link so you can see the characters rather than this forum actually embedding it. Just copy that text, don't use any bold when you paste it, and it should work.

This is the one everyone raves about, nickname is the Arkansas Dragon or something like that, haven't been there yet but am going in the spring with some of the local guys. I'll let you know what it's like.

Jessieville Arkansas looks like the Southern tip of the Dragon's tail. That's 264 miles or about 5 hours from my house, this is starting to look like a must do. There is actually supposed to be a lot of good riding I could do on the way there if I took some back roads to get there. The ZX-14 would be my first choice for such a trip, comfortable enough for a long day in the saddle and plenty of capability once the serious stuff arrives. Would be a pretty exciting trip EX, I'd be interested in one of your overlays from Google Earth at same scale to see how it compares to the original Dragon. To be honest, I'm hoping it's a little faster that the original, more medium speed sweepers 70-75 mph would be nice.

Kruz - Here's a screenshot of the north section of the AR Dragon, from 1 mi S of Mt Judea to 3.4 mi S of Mt Judea. Zig zags at top are posted at 10 mph. Middle section just below the "123" label are posted at 15 mph.
And for reference, here are the screenshots I posted previously, so these are all at the same scale:
1827 into New Hope:
Cherohala Skyway:
80% of the Tail of the Dragon
The AR Dragon has some 1 and 2 mi long straights or gentle curves where you could really get moving, but also some tighter twists, and then even a few super-tight kinks. Seems like a combination between the Tail of the Dragon, Cherohala Skyway and the roads around your home you like.
I will say, there's about a 26-mi stretch between Ola thru Dardanelle then Russellville then Taral to Dover that isn't gonna be great. But a lot of the entire route is pretty darn remote with no towns or homes to interfere with you, which should make for good riding.

Here's a 4-mi stretch between Pleasant Valley and Simpson. The road signs for the middle kink slow you down to 40 mph, so that'll be a good section, but the rest won't be thrilling, well, unless you're over 100 :)
The big curve at the bottom with the 7 on it is posted at 45 mph.
For reference, the tight zig zags at the top of the first AR Dragon map I posted, about a mi S of Mt Judea are posted at 10 mph ... yes 10. You're gonna get to show what's what and who's who in that section.
