Thanks Drag! Supposed to be 50 today and I'm really thinking I need to take the bike in....only problem is all the melting snow and crap all over the roads..... Maybe one more week

You almost there buddy...

55 F here. Good enough for me on a daily basis but don't let a quick warm spell fool you. The rest of the week is 20-30. I'm waiting for on decent rain fall to clean off the roads.

Here it depends... last time we had a decent rain fall, we went to the hill country and my buddy laid is new to him S1000RR. The water pushed debris on the road... no bueno. If you don't have hills over there you should be fine though!

Looked at a 2014 Aprilia RSV4 and a 2014 Triumph 675R yesterday, not that impressed...maybe I'm too use to Jap bikes but these Euro bikes look a bit weird in the details to me. Would like to get a ride on both just to check it out but that ain't happening.

Drag, I know you don't care for it it but I really like the new Honda CBR1000RR SP, this is the best Blade ever and probably the last of it's kind, could be a collectors item some day. It's really not much of a premium over the standard Blade, maybe $2600 and you get a lot for your extra dough, Brembos, Ohlins, hand cut port and polish job and engine balancing. The Blade has always been about balance and this bike is the pinnacle of that philosophy. Yea, it's down on topend a bit but I still think it would spank the Euro bikes on an American track. Honda has to bring out something new next year though and they have to have TC. Maybe a V-Four ala Aprilia with full TC and ABS? Suzuki same thing, a new GSXR1000 with fresh styling and TC is way overdue. I never see anyone on a new Gixxer anymore, sales are dead in the water.

Dragmeister, found this locally on Craigslist, would make a great track bike, he's got everything on there that I would add, full topshelf Ohlins suspension, Marchesini wheels, Galfer brakes, Akropovic Evolution exhaust etc.

I'm guessing an easy $7000 in extra goodies, 9700 miles and very clean, what should I offer him?

2007 CBR1000RR Repsol

Full ohlins suspension
Power commander
Dino jet quick shifter
Repsol blue pazzo levers
Galfer wave rotars
Vortex sprocket
Rk chain
Steel braided brake lines
BMC race filters
Marchesini wheels

Kruz that thing is real nice! I was looking at two before I bought my 10R.... The one I was leaning twards had all those goddies and it had been stroked to an 1100.... I was all about it but my only fear was who did the motor work and how good they were at what they do. So I decided to go with the 10 and try out TC for my first time....

It is nice, I shot an email over to Rook and he guessed over $10,000 in aftermarket parts alone. It does look very clean and well cared for, shot him an email but no response yet.

Nice!!! A lot of money. I'm thinking north of 10 grand. If I had the $$ I would be all over it, just add an RCS19 and call it a day. How much is he asking? I would love to ride it down to the Circuit here and show some love to Marc Marquez two weeks from now.

My number 1 choice is still the Beemer, second the ZX-10R (although I fit better on the CBR), but for something like this, I'd forget those two bikes and not regret it.
Those burn a little oil but riding hard at the track does that to any bike, plus you have to change the oil often so no biggie. When you're done with it, you can transplant all the goodies to the next bike or sell and have a hefty deposit for the next one!

Looks sweeeet Somefun and I like your work shop, very clean and organized looking! The new Gen 10R has to be the most underrated machine ever made although they are showing up on racing grids everywhere now. I think they were overshadowed by the BMW when first released due to the fact they didn't post as big a dyno number as the S1000RR, no worries though, they are at the very least a match on the race track where it counts.

Yup, cloaking device disabled, SHEILDS DOWN, FIRE!!!

looks great!

Only complaint on the appearance ofthis bike is the tail. One of you guys has to come up with a way to integrate street legal lights and lic plate to the Gen 4. Then that bike is perfect. I really want one of those bikes. As much as I like the idea of newer and better, I hope the liter bike technology stagnates for several more years so I can still have bragging rights on riding the fastest one if I ever get to own it.

As much as I like the idea of newer and better, I hope the liter bike technology stagnates for several more years so I can still have bragging rights on riding the fastest one if I ever get to own it.

That's the point of this thread, liter tech is stagnating, I read an article a while back that said we've reached the point of diminishing returns where it takes a lot of investment dollars to eek out smaller and smaller returns in real performance increases. Witness Supersports, MV and Ducati came out with the new F3 800 and Panigale 899 with all the latest bells and whistles and they got spanked in two recent shootouts with the old tech GSXR750. The 750 was almost a second quicker on track despite no traction control.

I predict the BMW S1000RR will stay at the top of the literbike food chain for years to come. Honda and Suzuki were rumored to have come out with new liter bikes but they didn't top the Beemer in tests so they got shelved. Buy a ZX-10R with dealer discount and mod and you have the best bike on the road and track.

Talked to the guy with the Repsol, he said he put over $13,000 in aftermarket goodies on there, was going to track it but it ended up too pretty to take too the track and risk pranging it so ended up riding it to work. He said he hasn't ridden it since September. I need to get over there and take a look at it and make him an offer.

Commit to something....something you like visually....that gives you that 'feeling' of oneness with it.I like that 10R...really...like the lines and the styling.I know it hauls ass...handles great...has the trick stuff on it we all enjoy.I'm just a tad too long for it....but if I had a second bike...that'd be the one.Love those lines;)Who knows...maybe sometime I'll trade the 14R(but I doubt it )and get a nice 10R....at this point...I've got the bike I always really wanted. So I'm happy. But Kruz...you're still seeking. You want a kick ass literbike....the Honda is cool...not as cool as yer 10R;)But cool anyway...go for it bro!Looks like a good deal to me ..BTW...you HAVE a Honda don't you?A CBR 1000RR?(if there is such a beast;))That's a very sweet looking bike. The Red one.

A different perspective:

DON'T DO IT

wait for 2015. Yamaha is coming back with a vengeance. Insane power, TC, an already proven chassis and a beautiful engine sound. The HP number is hype as it'd probably beat the S1000RR by just a few ponies but the bike has the looks, the power and the chassis. Hopefully, breaks will be great as well.

That R1 looks pretty nice, they finally got rid of those ugly cans under the seat. I hope they got the lard off while they're at it, 477 lbs wet is too heavy for a liter, by about 30-40 lbs. It's about time someone kicked BMW off their roost, I'm frankly tired of looking at it and hearing about it. BMW would try to retaliate of course but they're never going to have the leap frog effect in power like they did back in 2010. They caught the Japs napping, nobody in Japan was going to up their game too much, a few HP here a few pounds there was the status quo and then BMW hit 'em right when the recession of 2009 hit full force. I hope the Big Four come back with some game changing products for '15. Honda knows they need to come up with something big after resting on their laurels since '08.

Yeah I'm in France right now and the magazine I'm reading is talking about some weight reduction. If that thing deliver on power and keep the crossplane, I may be buying brand new after all lol
A Euro R1 produces 175hp, so if they are saying 200HP we should expect 180HP in the states. They would need to produce a solid 185-190hp on average to beat the S1000. They will also reenter WSB so that's good.

None of the Big Four needs to release a next gen liter bike until they're ready to step up to the plate and deliver 180 rear wheel HP. Honda doesn't like to do this and they don't like TC, they need to change.

remember all the hype over the 09 R1?

That 2015 is a beautiful bike but Yamaha lost some credibility with that 09 R1. I'm sure the 09 a decent bike but it was not the game changer it was talked up to be. and personaly, i don't care for the sound of the crossplane engine.
