Thanks for the follow-up Cblast. I also turned on PM for my account.

I'm currently not in the market yet, but when I'm ready I'll give you a shout out. Got a lot of crap going on with moving within the next month, so once that's taken care of I'll contact you.

Hello sir! I shared with you that it would be a Akropovic system later on, and for now flash her for the stock system, and remove all saftey maps, and the low end 2400 RPM was what I wanted, with mid, I never thought the top end would be down on steam, remember there was a index card in the USPS pack saying in bold writing ZX14R 2013 with stock exhaust, why would I flash a bike for a pipe when it was not on yet? that's why you send your ECM back in right when you make a(free) change? It's all good ! (You even said after it happen you were in a rush that week) Again pay better attention to your customers,if your not sure call before you make adjusments, or try to sell them more options, some customers are bone heads I know! I'm just 1 guy # 401 out of 400 ECM flashes so your track history is good. Apology accepted God bless !

RE: The Cblast Flash

Hi there, I haven't read this whole thread so excuse me if these questions have been covered before. I just bought an old 2007 zx14, its all stock and I am enjoying learning to ride it. While I don't need more power I would like to make the most of what I have so I will be looking for a full system for it, then a flash/tune. Can you tell me what advantages there are to flashing the factory ECU compared to the common PC/tune option? Are there any problems with flashing an ECU from outside the US market? Is it possible to flash a spare ECU and keep my original? Or does the immobilizer come into play?

cblast -I like your responses to other questions and your rationale, you seem like a good bloke

Hank - what's wrong with fuel cut on decel?

Any help would be great, and sorry for all the questions.

Lettuce mix this one as a sweet&sour dressing onto your bike.

I haven't read this whole thread so excuse me

Let me help with that. See the upper post on top of yours? That was a flash that was more or less flashed into a limp. The rider could feel that recent loss of power thru a flash. You are looking for the best combo, right?

Can you tell me what advantages there are to flashing the factory ECU compared to the common PC/tune option?

PC is not going to help. You might have a euro compliant type engine fueling system. So if the 02 is used, go look at the pipe collector or where the 4 pipes meet and see if there is a unit with a wire coming off it. If that 02 is plugged into the exhaust collector, I believe that is going to mess with the PC.

As far as the 02 and a flash? I have no clue if that is going to upset the apple cart of the computing tables. There is some weird stuff in the processing and the more I hear terms like mono and A type stability tables, those are going to clash? So is it mono on mono or A to A, I think the tables in the mono working an A or in other words, I will paraphrase this; 'an internal error is defined as the difference between the measured value and the average value of a random sampling of each input.'

So I have not one clue how all this works, but sample the input against this random stuff, I can't tell if a flash is going to override the 02? In other words, go out and check that mono part and see if it's on the bike? WATTS funny is that we are open loop and the flash is not up against a mono part. Kind of cool how knowing the parts is parts and how they work. That's what I came across last night and that's all I could get out of that abstract.

Are there any problems with flashing an ECU from outside the US market? Is it possible to flash a spare ECU and keep my original? Or does the immobilizer come into play?

Good questions. That's watt made me think of explaining something was me reading this mono move and the A move against what mono does and how A works the numbers, oh shit, I just figured out the A!!!!!!!!

I mean if I'm wrong, then my logic to the logic is not in the penultimate is 101, quiet, I'm in class!

Fucking A!!!!

Another E for an E is an Electrick Epiphany!!!

Is another term for LIMP!

In the end, the numbers won't table out is the 'average sampling' of mono vs. A....

I think

Here is my CBlast Flash review I thought I would share. I have sat back and just read on this forum for over a year about the CBlast flash. I was skeptical for a long time but I can’t tell you how much I enjoy this Flash for the 2012 14R! I have Brocks CT duals and I had the PC with brocks street map and Guhl flash 2 before (I still love you Brock). I removed the PC of course and installed the flash. Honestly it feels I have gained 3 to 5 horsepower everywhere! I am not a drag racer just street racing for me. 6K to 7 K the difference was night and day. I finally got the nerve to run above 8K and when I did the front wheel came up and going downhill! And I weigh 285 pounds! Violent yet smooth acceleration is the only way I can describe it. Now if I could only get somebody to run me. The FUN factor is enhanced so much more. Well done C! My hat goes off to you. I still believe If Smokin would have got a good ECU the difference would be a lot more. Also with the PC and Guhl flash 2 It had a low speed “lurch” or a SLIGHT “bucking” that I thought was just a product of the header when the throttle was cut coming down a hill between 2K to 3K. I would just pull in the clutch at the right time. That is totally gone now and its smooth as can be. Also I have noticed when going up the local mountain a gain of 3500’ Ft. I notice the bike loses much less horsepower than when before. I cannot account for this I just think the quality of tune is better. The CBlast Flash is like Swatting a fly with a sledgehammer. The CBlast flash is like lighting a firecracker and it goes off like a stick of Dynamite. It’s just what I need.
Awesome!

Disagree. That was cleared of all codes upon ping or needle sweep. As far as I'm concerned "The Hand" performed in the Cflash setting. It has to stick that code steady on the dash or blink to be sending in poor (not within spec) data. So the flash was working or the numbers pop the code steady. Why I disagree was I took the times of both flashes, then averaged them against each other. The Piguhl out pinged the numbers [on average]. Junk science I know, but I let the numbers speak for themselves.

Oz

It's a Gen2. It's a 2013 that a guy purchased brand new last May. Bike only had 170 miles on it. He had 2bros CF slips with a pc5 on it. I got hooked on everything I read about the flash and had to do it. Ive had some big hp (120+ that's actually big) Harlies with a lot of dyno time but I don't plan to dyno this one. Pucker factor displayed tons of hp. Honestly it's like a new bike. The hype is not over exaggerated at all.

I let a friend of mine take my bike for a ride today. This is a guy who knows how to ride a bike damn close to its potential and he has a stable full of bikes. He came back from the ride shaking his head with a huge smile on his face and all he said was "I wish I didn't ride it... Because now I have to get one." He commented obviously about the power but also how smooth the delivery was. He had recently ridden another friend's stock 14r and could not believe the difference. I love the Cblast flash more every time I ride.

RE: The Cblast Flash

Cblast, so it seems on a different board/threat that 3 ECU's you have flashed have turned up as bricks and are totally useless, on this there was one also. I was hoping you were going to chime in on that thread but I guess you don't monitor as closely as this one. There are a few questions I have if you would be so kind to answer them.

How often do you Brick an ECU?
How many bricks have there been?
What do you do when it bricks? Do you charge the customer or replace the ECU (I know Guhl, Brock & Ivan do not have this problem but woolrich users do it seems) I have read that Romans bricked an ECU and bought the customer a new one, do you do the same thing?

There have been a few shady reviews on the other forums, and I am sure many people would like to hear your response to what has been said.

A few of the colorful things are:

So I decided to send off my ecu, after a few phone conversations with the tuner, the ecu was in the mail. Man I'm excited to get this thing back and see if it will perform as claimed. During the wait there was great communication, sounded very knowledgeable, even got a text photo of a lap top downloading in progress of an ecu, I was told that the text pic was "my" ecu, I knew I would have it back soon and would take it straight to the drag strip.

So this is where it gets interesting, I get a text saying my ecu was corrupt and would not be flashed on his computer. I have a text pic from the tuner showing my ecu being flashed. Now he tells me that it "wasn't" my ecu and he didn't send that text, said it was his friend using his phone. He tells me he would not put my ecu on his computer because it might corrupt his files.

Now I am told that my ecu would not work on his test bike, it wouldn't idle and flashed a code. I drove it to and raced it all day then drove it home and he can't get his test bike to idle and it throws a code? So I asked what might have happened to my ecu, he tells me the U.S.P.S. might have put a magnet on it or they dropped it, or someone had tried to flash it and ruined it before I got it.

So I send my ECU to guess who? I get a text saying my ecu was corrupt did I read that right? I was not happy and now my bike sits here blinking the lower ABS bar. He sent me a text showing my ecu being flashed too. Then I tell him it "wasn't" my ecu he flashed, it was my other sisters boyfriend's grandaddy and he didn't seemed too text'd up about it. He said his friend was using his phone to text me some cowboy and lezbo videos. He tells me he would not put my ecu in his bike for fear of ABS coming down wit ha virus on his computer bike, and just because it might corrupt his files, please see the cashier before picking up your brick.

Welcome to my world last(May) month, I asked him / C blast to flash my new 2013 14R, factory pipe and remove all safety stuff( told him I would later put a Ackropovic full pipe on), the bike ran strong at 1st down low (then rich/ slugish)and mid, top end was soft/ no wheel stands or anything, I have had a 200hp busa for 12 years so I know hp. Anyway I talk to him, me and Neils was out with your ECM the other day he says it was pulling the wheel in all the gears,( throwing names) his reponse on my ? Don't sound right, put 89 Oct in it, should run better he says, I'm in East Texas, I prefer 92/93.
Can I get my $ back and stock flash back? Sure I will flash it right/ I did put the flash for a pipe which was wrong, let me make it right I will flash and send you a full refund if it's right this time just send the $ back. No thanks put it back to stock and send my $ back, ok sir ! ECM gets back it runs like it did at 1st( factory), he then sends me back $330.00 says PayPal fees etc, I'm glad my bike is fine, I put a new pipe on her now ,but Johnny cheese is the only person that can touch my bike besides me. I have all remarks mine and his on my Gmail also. Stay away from C Blast please!!!!!

Wheelie ! You were lucky to talk to him, we Gmail each other, but I only got a call when he wanted more $/ trying to sale that new launch mod, and when I wanted my money back, I figured get your $ and run, so I did, I told him it was wrong on his business transactions. But I hope other 14R guys are careful.
Look at a post I replyed here about looking forward to riding a C Blast bike, it is my bike , I just never told anyone here.
I also posted on ZX Forums also when it happened, a shop owner buddy of mine felt bad for me and got me a new TBR full pipe for a little over $ 600.00 /I (payed)new so The Lord used someone ealse to bless me. I'm blessed to have the bike back better than stock, and will take it to JC later for dyno and another flash with chart to prove.
But she will lift in 2nd with TC on now, so I know she's good.

Just to be fair, there was 1 person who defended you in that thread so I didn't want to leave that out

always someone with a bad experience. my bike is a boss with the flash. sorry to hear about some people that were not happy with there flash. i know the difference just got my ecu back and im more than happy with it . never understood some people that slam someone. without asking others if there is anyone else that had a bad experience . not starting a fight. i could care less about the dumb shit. yeah i said it.

"I don't see any mention of disabling the fuel cut on decel.
Do you address this?
Hank"

The injectors power is not cut or shut off on decel with the ZX-14R as it is on the zx-10r.

Woolich just released Fuel Cut Disable for 2012+ ZX14Rs so that seems to conflict with what CBlast posted.

I just got an email from them last night saying this was going to be on the next release for the 14r, did they release it last night? Just got done looking at their website, where do you see it listed????

And yes it sure does appear Cblast was incorrect on this one.

C! Wassup my brother? Dude, your flash is outstanding! Ive been running the CBlast flash for 2 seasons now. Absolute flawless! Ive had C tweak the flash a couple times for me die to upgrades that I've done to Melinda. Ive put Melinda on a coupke different dynos. Each proved to be in excess of 200 hp. One put down 204 hp 119 ft-lb, the other 201 hp 118 ft-lb. I then had the launch control option added. Insane! Just fuckin insane!

Keep up the good work! Im loving the flash!

Just a follow up post here. Sent in my ECU to have it flashed, and this was in the email he sent me:

Ecu flashed and fully tested, launch control added, rpm limit raised to 11,500, fan temp adjust, retain last tc setting added, de-cel fuel cut eliminated, ignition maps smoothed, fuel maps adjusted and smoothed, safety mode removed, secondary throttle plates flashed open 100% by 2600 rpm. Top speed limiter removed. All cylinders unified.

It looks like he did add this feature.
