well I messed up and went the wrong way on my gearing , not sure what I was thinkn but I wont do that again , I clipped off 181 all day long but couldn't go faster till it sunk in that I made a error in my thinking , lesson learned the hard way , still fun tho only bummer is that the Ohio Mile event is moving out of Ohio and not sure where ill be able to try again,

How many ways can a guy mess up a straight run down a 2 1/2 mile runway ???? I found out some of them LOL..
bottom line... I got my qualifying done to enable me to run speeds up to 240 mph with the bike teched to 255..
Best time of the day for me was 192.6 mph and I don't know how much faster ( or even if I COULD have ) I could have gone today..Early today, we had a major bike crash with the rider airlifted to the hospital.. That created a closed course and would take quite awhile to inspect track and reopen runs..I was pretty tired from Sat in the sun all day , excitement and lacking a good nites' sleep. We decided to pack it in and come on home and I am glad I did..
I did get the basics accomplished and now understand what is necc..
I will try to get more info on the event done but now just gonna get some rest..

I am posting my best video run of the day. You can see the obvious newb mistake I made :) I may well have hit my goal had I had all my brain cells intact..:) They wanted us to launch easy so as not to tear up the runway surface and sense we had a mile and a half before we hit the timing traps I rolled away pretty easy on all my launches.. You cans see the guy just before me takes it pretty easy also. Anway here is the link..still cant post. Admin can adjust if you want..

Great run Chrly! I was trying to watch for the end of the run, but I did not see the marked endpoint. Was it marked with cones or something? 2014ZX14R says that the track officials think the guy who crashed didn't see the end of his run either. Was it hard to see?

Extrap.. I simply forgot to shift into 6th..I was so fixed on trying to see flags that I did not even notice my shift lite..( thing is not very brite anyway..
Skewed.. There were flags at the finish line on both sides of the track and three towers with lites that flashed red when you hit the finish line beam. I never saw the red lites. I began looking to the right for the turn off immediately after crossing the finish..
If you watch the video, you can see the flags to my left in this pic. It takes place at 3:40 . Next year I will definitely have them place class/speed stickers on left side fairing instead of left side windscreen.
I will also have a cleaner windscreen......

Tearing up the runway?
That's funny
A 767 has a max landing weight of 320,000 lb. And landing speed of 140 to 150 mph. So, those tires spinning up when they touch down are going to do more damage then you can dish out.
But, no point in doing a smokey burnout to launch out there for us going for top speed not E.T
Great runs BTW! I'm jealous!

Jet.. Most of us realize ,but the agreement between MKM and the Airport Authorities stated " No Burnouts" . In order to continue in the future, it is best to go along with what ever rules are involved regardless of the stated reason...Besides..with a mile and a half to get up to speed, most had plenty of time :)

Nitrous. Small shot and you'll get 203 or better. was done with the Gen1 my Dynotune nitrous kit came off of. DynoTune NOS without any spraybar, sprayed only in 6th gear....doubt it was custom tuned. Probably just a nitrous map in his PC5. I'm sure the Gen2 will do it easy.

Cool.. what yr 14 ?... Also size matters.. Matt is a big guy and I think he went 195 with a shot but not sure.. Maybe he can jump in and recount his efforts again..( I just checked and his post is on page 1 of this thread)
As for me.. 2013 with Yosh R77ss System, Schnitz flash, and lowered front and back.. Gearing was 17/42. The bike dynos out locally at 192 to 194 hp.
With gear on, I weigh somewhere around 135 ) I vary 5 pounds either way...
My top speed was 192.6 which was in 5th gear in case you had not read that in another thread.. I had to do four qualifying runs to get up to licenes Class A allowing me to run wide open I was having trouble spotting the flag markers and simply missed the fact that I was in 5th gear..Pretty sure I had a bit over 200 had I shifted to 6th.
Here are the figures for the Oct Mojave event..
This is teh M1 class. M2 includes power adders, turbo nitrous etc.. M1 can include any internals , cams , bore, etc .
