Oh, if you do miss a gear, just pull the clutch and roll to the roadside to shift it into 1 and take off. Don't try to match speeds unless you really know how to do that. I thought I did but after rolling along in false neutral, loosing speed and rpm winding way down, it can be very difficult to guess how high to rev. If it's wrong you bang your gearbox. Just roll to the side even if you feel like a fool.

Welp I folded and purchased the heal tech shifter myself. I actually like how it doesn't require anything special to install for the shift lever. However I don't agree with the limited uses of having to own a android to basically active and adjust everything from. I can't wait till the snow melts so I can get full comparison of this unit versus my goto brand of the dynojet quick shifter.

Think I'm gonna just wait until they unlock this in the ecu flashing....
I know it's done on the zx10r through the ECU so just a matter of time for the 14R hopefully.........????

I was going to order this but instead spent the money to finish getting all my riding gear. Had a good friend go down 3 weeks ago, and really messed himself up. Had he been wearing the proper gear, he would already be out of the hospital.

Installed mine last weekend & it took a little over an hour including setup. I had all the fairings off to begin with because I had other things to do to the bike and was able to install the wiring harness without removing the gas tank and air cleaner. Everything routed cleanly and worked straight out of the box. I only went for a short ride but am extremely impressed with how well it seems to work and how simple it was to install. This thing is slick as shit. Finally had some nice weather and put some miles on the bike with it installed and it works flawlessly. Toggled the ability to downshift on with it using their Bluetooth app and that works great too. These guys make an outstanding, cost effective and easy to install product!!! Love it.

My definition of "blipping" the throttle is matching the current RPM upon downshifting so if that is what you mean than yes you can blip the throttle during a clutch less downshift. This thing is so much fun. The harder you get on the bike the more fun the quickshifter is.

What if you do not blip the throttle when you do the clutchless downshift? I'm sure you have not tested this but what if you did not rev high enough or too high?

Does it cut ignition to unload the engine between gears to downshift the same way it does when you upshift? ...and the brief unload is where the blip happens?

Could you mess up a clutchless downshift with the Healtech?

The reason I am curious is because blipping only comes into play when we downshift and with the quickshifters most of us have, the quickshifter doesn't have anything to do with our downshifts.

Thanks, dan. Too bad I'm not in the market for a shifter. I don't think this was being produced when I got mine. I'd say for a cheaper alternative to the HM GP, this is very much worth a try. My HM PLUS won't downshift clutchless and it was $700! I like the cool little digital display but not $400 more and I sure would like to clutchless downshift. Sounds like that is best done carefully until you really know what you are doing but you can always just grab the clutch if you want.
