I went for a nice fun ride Sunday...temps were 38 degrees...engine never went above 145 degrees except at stoplights.I pulled off in a rest stop probably 100 miles into my ride. For some reason I 'checked' my chain. It was well past the slack adjustment specs in the manual.Loose...but not dangerously. At that point...the engine temp was 145.All settings were unchanged...anyone have an experience like this?I thought perhaps the links were somehow failing...but inspection showed no damage.
Riding previously since installing the chain..temps were in the upper 50's and 60's.Chain slack was fine...as per the book.I felt the chain...it was cold.
I just now went out to the garage..it's 40 in there...checked the slack...still as it was on the ride.
Any thoughts on this?
Aw...probably just chain stretch...been a while since I adjusted it after installing.
