Wow, thank you for including the link. That is a great video! :-) The ZX14R gauges reflected on your helmet visor looks great!

Wheelie, I am not sure exactly what you re asking. But if you mean creating a GoPro video quality crystal clear as the GoPro channel promotional videos, I honestly think they use super duper expensive editing software to make their videos look good. Just my opinion.

+ 1. Just like TV's at the store. They always have better image quality!

Kofla try the r7 setting, I tried a lower setting on an overcast day and the image looked really humid! Here's a vid I did real quick today after leaving the dry cleaner! I wasn't planning on going somewhere else so I just had my helmet and gloves: couldn't to push it to make it entertaining. I was glad I didn't, you'll understand @ 3:15s lol Hint: Chips lol
I've got the cam on the windscreen: real shaky but I love the perspective. I tried to fix the shakiness on my computer and on youtube but you tell me what you think.

snuck right up on them, did you? Let's remember, these wide angle lenses make it look like the camera is much farther away than it really is.

Don't get stopped with a camera in view. I'm sure that reduces the chance that he will give you a warning to about nil.

Yep, those cameras put a lot of distance between what is in front of you, while everything on your sides appear closer. I got pretty close and they must have heard me coming! The one on the left pointed is index at a car coming in the other lane as to tell him/her slow down. Lot's of cool cops here, in Nebraska, they would have turned around and given chase for sure.

Yeah, better turn it off and put it in your pocket or something. I would even make sure to say: wait officer let me make sure the camera is off"

Kofla try the r7 setting

Dragking, mine is the original GoPro HD Hero Motorsports, only goes to r5. I noticed that your video goes from normal to a little "faster" speed, you did it while editing or do you uploaded to youtube directly? And who do I have to bribe to ride with my own police escort? lol

you need the LCD bacPAc, at least for setup.

Rook, I ordered the LCD BacPac today directly from GoPro.

IDK where or how people got this idea that having a personal camera on your bike is something 'not okay' with LEO.It's YOUR bike....there's nothing wrong with filming on your bike. You can't get into trouble by videoing YOUR LIFE on two wheels.I think someone let someone scare em enough to pass this along to others.Filming is NOT illegal.Or wrong.I say...keep it rollin on a traffic stop.If the guy's on the up and up...he won't have any problem with it.They don't stop IN FRONT of ya anyway...so what's the big deal. You get off your bike, pull yer wallet out...and flash those nice crisp 100 dolla bills...yep...no problem (J/K....but you do remove your helmet and get your DL out...BEFORE he has to tell ya every step to make for a simple traffic stop.(helmet off optional). And you get OFF your bike. That always seems to ease the situation .

He may just want to warn ya...no sense having him 'know' the whole deal's on video...he most likely won't even KNOW that if you just think a little bit.And do a few small things before he has to walk up to ya.He doesn't most likely want to check out your bike..maybe...that's okay...yak it up with him...tell him when he askes ya.."how fast will it go"...they always do that. Before ya know it...you'll be getting your License back in your hand..and he'll be sayin..."okay....slow it up some will ya?...have a safe ride"...and you'll be back ridin in no time.(make sure you THANK him whatever the outcome)and wish him a good day.

Something about"catching more flies with honey than Vinegar"...IDK...I heard that somewhere

Here's one that REALLY works...course,you want to MEAN it when ya say it(or at least SOUND sincere)..."Ya Officer,I know...I WAS going TOO fast..I'M sorry about that...I'll slow it down"....

BTW...taking off your helmet is another way of saying..."I've nothing to hide..."

Grn14, there is a kid who got in hot water for recording and uploading the video on youtube. The cops even did a search warrant on his home. I think he was being stopped for speeding. A month later, after he paid the fines they got pissed and threatened him with prison when they realized he had posted the video on Youtube, lol

Naturally...there's ALWAYS something to counter something else.Personally...I don't worry when I ride filming...or getting stopped with the cam running. That's just me.A lot can happen that creates a bigger situation than it needs to be however. That's all I'm really sayin.Politeness...yes sir,no sir....non threatening....that goes a long way. Some guys..you know..they gotta prove the cops are the BAD GUY no matter what. That's on them.Like guys doing wheelies at 120 mph in a 35 zone...in traffic.Kinda makes EVERY guy on a sportbike a wreckless idiot...

You saw in that vid how that LEO was responding.THAT's NOT a normal stop...no way....the video doesn't show what led up to that at all....OR what happened once he turned it off.Maybe that guy just hit somebody...and ran...who knows?I've NEVER had a LEO pull in front of me like that, and draw a weapon over a speeding ticket...no way.Something else is going on there. There was another one right behind him.TWO cars at least, and the one Leo blocking his exit path?

Another guy giving sportbikers a bad rap.

Grn14, I have a lot of friends who are police officers and also ride. And when I was younger I've made my share of mistakes in my life. Like I always tell my friends, as long as we follow the law we should be ok.

Ya...I'm NOT always right...I watched that other part of the vid...I didn't see anything in there that would warrant a weapon being pulled...or the LEO not identifying himself BEFORE he grabs his gun...THAT was wrong IMO.I think those types of things are the minority thankfully. That was a poorly executed traffic stop there...with lots of possible BAD outcomes. That copper should be schooled on his 'stop' etiquette...I think so.The guy wasn't running...a simple pull over would have been fine IMO.The guy on the bike seemed 'fine'...it was the LEO that was heading towards escalating it and blowing a gasket.Unfortunately..there are LEO's out there that do that for whatever reason...escalate a simple situation that is.

LOL!!!I never hold my helmet in my hand when I'm being talked to by a Leo.That's what the mirrors are for!!!!!

Just imagine if that guy had immediately pulled off his helmet innocently as that trooper.. was pullin his gun out like that.No tellin what MIGHT have happened...over a simple traffic stop.

ok gotcha thought you had the 2. I didn't edit anything besides making the video shorter and trying to fix the shakiness. Maybe it's just the brutal acceleration of the 14 lol it could be the trees or the lack thereof that gave the impression I was going faster. Police escort ah lol you don't want unless you name is Obama lol

About the vid you posted, some officers are just assholes, it is that simple. The guy had no right to pull his gun out in those circumstances, if the guy was fleeing then maybe. Some cops just like to make their lives more exiting than the are actually. I have met my share but got lucky for the most part. Last summer in NE, there was this car who just took off in front of me at the light and started merging on the highway (we were going the same direction) I followed and the guy accelerated, I kicked it in second, and he became a tiny dot in my rearview. Next think you know I'm stock at the light, he comes behind me and flashes his badge lol I just keep looking in front of me like I didn't see him and notice he's laughing, the light turns green and we go separate way lol He was probably a detective or something and never flashed his light, he couldn't have wrote me a ticket, the only thing he could do is take me to jail and I knew he couldn't care less. The moral of the story, we spend a lot of time checking for regular LE cars and bikes but those "unmark" are hard to spot. Now imagine they were using unmarked bikes and wearing regular gears lol I would just stop riding lol

I think that cops are more likely to go by the book and write you up if they know they might end up on youtube.

... just to show the world they are protecting "the widow and the orphan" like we say in french. Like we are the bad guys. Sometimes I understand hooligans.

hooligans

Green lives in Montana, middle of nowhere, low crime etc... cops are going to be easier to deal with, big metropolitan or places like Lincoln, NE with highest number of cops per capita, they won't let you slide! Ages and gear matter to. If you're rocking sandals and doing 120mph you're probably getting ticketed. Middle aged with good gear and polite... you got 50/50. All I know for sure is that I "ran in" some really cool cops here.

"Green lives in Montana, middle of nowhere",....LMAO!!!

Yeah, remember that Kofla...or anyone....being in a small town means ya don't have to worry if ya get pulled over an start talkin smack. The dumb hick cops here...they don't get upset...nah....they just smile an wave.... Probably never had to pull a gun on anyone. Most likely, wouldn't even know how to point it.

Just for shits an giggles....MONTANA just so happens to have the distinction for the MOST drunk driving fatalities in the US.That's the ones they actually 'catch'.....what's that got to do with 'crime' and cops dealing with danger here?Pick up any newspaper and read the police blotter....in amy Montana city.If ya act like an a-hole here...you'll be treated like one

What does it do that is different than the old one.

That doesn't contradict what I said. Cops make a lot of DUI arrests in Nebraska as well. Those are easy stops compared to gang violence or drug busts. In big cities, cops worry about gangs/mafias, drug cartels, armed robberies etc so they are always on the edge. Montana is notorious for drunk driving lol Well it just proves that there is not enough cops to cover the territory and since it's the number one crime then cops have it easy and are therefore easier to deal with. They see you speeding, you stop and they find out you sober and yes they let you go lol
In New York city (for instance) if you DON'T act like a a-hole chances are you still going to be treated like one!!! I have lived in Los Angeles, New York, Maryland and Nebraska which is kind of similar to Montana. You can't tell me different. The proof: 1. You'd have been suspended a long time ago if you lived somewhere else and 2. Get on you keyboard and research police brutality, racial profiling and stops without probable cause and compare NY, CA or Miami numbers with Montana lol We shouldn't even discuss this BUT I digress

@ Rook: I thought you had the 2 cause your track footage look way better than mine. Actually all the go pro video I have watched on youtube seemed to have better quality. I was eager to compare the HD 2 with the Drift but got tired of waiting and canceled my order so I can get drone. It'll be better than the HD2 at spotting beautiful girls on the beach

Grn14, according to the picture I am including from THIS website, your GoPro Hero2 should have 7 settings.

And I love the RAM Camera Mount on THIS WEBSITE.

To me looks like the Hero and the Hero 2 are not worlds apart in functions. Some nice updates like the 3 indicator lights so you don't have t look art the camera front to know if you are filming. Also, the film quality has been improved a greta deal but AFAIC, I couldn't ask for much better than what I have. The Hero2 is not much more expensive so if I were in the market, I'd just go with the latest. I would love to explore the super slow mo function. Never even tried with the regular Hero I have.

@ Rook: I thought you had the 2 cause your track footage look way better than mine.

I noticed your road footage seemed somewhat low-rez, maybe. I thuoght that might have been because it was a vey recent upload to Youtube. The quality is not top level until it has been up for a few hours.

I believe the software I use might be responsible for the clarity of my films. It's iMovie. Mac has traditionally been the imaging computer. Recently had all my projects freeze on me though. I don't know what I did. I will prolly be dragging the computer in to get my iMovie fixed. Other than that small problem, its worked greta for me.
