"Got the shorties. "

Post Results please. More Top sure would be sweeeeet. With Timing advance, too much bottom, need more top, weeee.

Oops, had a brainfart. I got the 25mm, street/midrange stacks. Same ones I had on my '06. You want the 15mm, race/top end stacks, huh? Interesting... I hadn't considered the the extra midrange available from tuning with an ignition module when I ordered these. Didn't f*ck with the timing on my '06, but have a DJ module sittin' here for the '08. Maybe I need to reconsider the stacks???....
Anyone wannna put some brand new 25mm Factory Pro v-stacks under their tree this year? I'll make ya a good deal!

What drive me nuts and no one talks about it is Carrozzeria Tri R's are lighter,,,,,,,, me thinks....... I want those, but I don't want to be flammed.

Hm--LIGHTER? Than BSTs? I didn't know that. People should talk about that more. Why would anyone flame you for getting the lightest rims known to man?

About the same price as BSTs, hey Rome? I guess that means I can wait a while. Thanks for the info though.

Just out of curiosity, how much does a set of ZX-14 BSTs weigh? CAn't find that published on the web. The Carros are 19.9.

Rook, that is the weight of the V-Track 5 Spoke. Look at the TRI-R 3 spoke. Dog has a picture posted with the weights belooooooow. This is the Light Weight Contender that no one talks about, nice rim for sure. It all come down to what your willing to spend me thinks. Merry Christmas boys, buy em up. You deserve it. Tee he

Yeah the pure’s are supposedly the lightest from what I'm told....They look real good. Now I'm waiting for my titanium front and rear rotor and caliper bolts. I ordered them in Gold from Probolt.com

I bet the reason nobody ever talks about the TRI-R is that nobody can find the info on the web. They should publicise that.

Another possible reason for the lack of info is that there are so few people who are considering spending the $$ that the questions just don't get asked much.

BST's are all about the weight. So, let's see what they weigh:

Front, with spacers:

6 lbs. 1 oz.

Rear, with spacers:

9 lbs. 4 oz.

Sprocket carrier:

1 lb. 13 oz.

Total rear, with sprocket carrier: 11 lbs. 1 oz.

Stock wheels:

Front 11.6 lbs.
Rear 19.5 lbs.

Weight savings over stock:

Front 5 lbs 9 oz.
Rear 8 lbs. 7 oz.

These numbers could be off by a few ounces, but you get the idea.

Shane

Great info. Helps if your trying to decide on which ones.

True, but if your are looking you must admit those Tri-R are allot of rim for the $$$$$$$$$$$$$. If money was no object, well thats another matter.

Looks like theer is more to the weight of the wheels than just the rims. Spacers, sprocket carrier...etc. The Carro Tri R seem like they are about a pound lighter if you are just considering the rims. Looks like a decent price in Dogo's link up there. I've seen some sites asking 500 -700 more.

Personally, I like the look of the BSTs better but performance is first and low price is a close second. Looking at those Carros, I'd be afraid to to do a wheelie on them. Same thing with BSTs. I know they are supposed to be stronger than steel but look at them.

Ok, so for shits and giggles I weighed my V-Tracks...

8.3 lbs - front wheel with bearings and valve stem installed

13.1 lbs - rear wheel with bearings, spacers, valve stem, and sprocket carrier (no sprocket)

Merry Christmas guys... hope Santa brings ya lotsa goodies!

Rick, just to clarify are your wheels the magnesiums?

Also, why two different weights for the rear?

The rims above are forged aluminium. No wallet for Magnesium.

The picture is of both rims on the scale at the same time. They weighed in around 19lbs give or take. With all the weights posted, take another look at the TRI-R #'s. I hope some one here gets them from Santa.

Gotcha. Cool. I thought it was some kind of fuel cutoff, but was like why? Makes sense now. You synchin' 'em up that often?

Thanks for clarifying. I might get a set of the Tri-R's... but they'll be for my 10r.
