Vic how is that seal ? As you may have noticed that bearing is not the 2RS. Why I will never know. Replace seal now if edges are rough as it looks in the pic. Maybe just the way it looks in the pic??? hope this helps, cheers

Yannih I take good care of her. I do all her maintenance and ...well couple upgrades. Wash her every 400 miles, lube chain, that sort of thing. I always take advantages when doing things like this to get to the hard to reach areas.... but yeah I usually keep the finger out if you know what I mean.
Romans thanks but that's zero help. Hey you might want to check your exhaust. From the length of time you've had your avatar photo, you've had that system for a while. Sometimes parts inside the muffler need replaced, such as the packing or baffles. Also sometimes bolts can loosen up, so you'd better get your wrenchies out and give them little nuts a twirl...I'm sure they'd enjoy it. Hope this helps.

I think Romans is running a hand made dump pipe now so I doubt there is any packing or baffles. He's put together his own turbo system on at least two 14s and he helps other people with their turbo projects. If there's something nobody else knows around here, Romans is usually the guy to ask. I mean, I'm sure we have a couple others too but We're lucky to have Romans who always is very willing to help.

LMAO, sorry Vic. You clearly have it covered,(or NOT covered is how dirt gets in)my bad. The dirt you have shown in that open bearing must be on my computer screen,,,
Quick Run, Time to delete pic so no one else can see lol
From the length of time
On the Forum less than a year and using words like Length of time,,,,, Really Vic, really ???
Those are clearly not your words as I do remember where Exactly where I read those before. C'Mon you can do better. At least use your own material if you're going to B taking cheap shots.
Once again I was only trying to help. Was not trying to be rude. But if that is your way and it's all you understand go ahead, let me have it.
Ok for the fun of it. How often should a Forum member here change his Avatar pic ? It's a Picture for gods sake, does anyone really care ? If that's what's important here let me know as I clearly thought the Picture was meaningless and by no way does it represent who the persons is behind it. Kind of Shallow thinking from my point of view.
Men, set me straight please.

Yep, i agree Rook. When someone is offering helpful advice which is aimed at saving you money in the long run - take it or don't; but don't respond the way that you did Vic. I get that some people here have taken jabs at you in the past..., but I don't think Romans was one of them. Calm down, chill out and let the stress go....

Hey Rook thanks. Nice when others come forward to be nice. It's rare and shows clearly who you are. Thank You.
As for Vic I must admit I do enjoy his refreshing point of view lol.

Vic, are you here for the sole purpose of being a prick to everyone? If so, mission accomplished.

What's all this stuff about my comment to try to help Romans out. Really doesn't make sense. I was just trying to help. He might not know that stuff, so I told him that stuff. I was just trying to return his favor.
But your post do make me wonder why you didn't ask "Romans, why are you telling him to change a seal that you can't even see clearly that might be messed up? That would be like me telling you to repack your muffler based on your avatar pic. Just not enough information to really make an informed recommendation." But I know, that's just you know...common sense. Someone light a match.

Vic you are exactly like a guy I work with. Thinks he's smart enough to deliver a smart ass comment, and no one notice that it was as such. Then when he's called out by the masses, tries to explain it all away like it was innocent. You and everyone here knows exactly what you did. Own it...you are what you are. A supreme being in your own eyes, and nothing more.
I really want to like you, but you make it tough man. Nobody here will think any less of you if you take advice from people who have more experiance than you. Lay down your guns, pull up a chair, grab a beer, and learn some shit.

ok. but people are going to keep telling you to eat dicks. What we do is share what we know and if you already know it, that's great. No insult is intended. Why not add a comment like "oh yeah, I had cracked seals on my Honda and I replaced them along with the bearings" or just "nah, those seals are just dirty. They're almost like new under all that grime." What I see so far is a guy with tremendous enthusiasm and intrigue with his bike but I haven't seen any real hard evidence of you being a master mechanic or a rider...so join the club. Most of us aren't those things either but we help one another out. I can tell you the help has saved my butt more than a few times. I didn't have a clue what was going on but someone stepped up and made a suggestion and darned if they weren't right. If you already know most of this stuff, you can share with us.. but I haven't seen it yet.....which is A-ok. Sometimes I wonder about my own social efficacy. After all, I spend way too much time on this forum and I have a lot more pressing issues in my life. So what is it about me?? What is it about my past that has put me in this spot. How are others percieving me? Ask yourself that, Vic. I really think this is you, not them. There's been a couple members over the years that I would call grumpy or curmudgeonly but they really are master mechanics a/o racers and they pretty much never needed to ask advice. They're here to give advice but you gotta show a little respect where respect is due.

Vic I don't know all this "Stuff" you list below, but I have learned some "Stuff" So I will do as you suggest in case I missed some "Stuff".
Hey you might want to check your exhaust. you've had that system for a while. Sometimes parts inside the muffler need replaced, such as the packing or baffles. Also sometimes bolts can loosen up, so you'd better get your wrenchies out and give them little nuts a twirl...I'm sure they'd enjoy it.

Vic of course I know you meant well, so I took your advice and did as you asked. While I was in there cut out 3 1/2 inches in case these bolts you speak of came loose. Sad part is all could find was Rivets, no bolts. Everything else was welded. Say what you want but I tried to give My "Nuts A Little Twirl" LMAO. Maybe tonight when the lights go out I'll have better luck. Sorry Champ.
LOL, little twirl,,, Ok to use that ? As far as one liners go thats a good one.

Fact 1) I don't ask many questions. I don't need to. 95% is in the service manual. My experience covers another 2 or 3%. Most of the time I need help it's about product reviews/opinions*.
Fact 2) If I have a question I will ask it.
Fact 3) I have connected with experienced motorcycling professionals. If and when I need help, they will be asked first*. Unless you are a MOTORCYCLING PROFESSIONAL, unless you have received EMAILS and unless you have my PHONE NUMBER, you are not one of these people. I have recently mentioned that I have a certain level respect for some forum members. Even with that status you are a light year from obtaining this status.
But Vic I know what I'm doing too...why not ask me?
The difference between them and you is they actually know me. They don't go off on a 1000 word diatribe when I ask about Probolt and start telling me how aluminum bolts aren't steel. I ask them for help, either they answer the question or ask for more information. It's awesome, that's why I prefer professionals.
* when it comes to asking about advice or product opinions and reviews on this forum, the question is rarely addressed as it is asked. There are other forums which the users are much better suited to providing guidance on service issues and product reviews. For example, in all the conversations on tires the last couple months literally none have been of any real value. I ended up choosing Q3s. How many people here actually speak about Q3s? How many people recommended Q3s? "Just get some Michelin Pilot 4s" is not helpful.
Look everyone, I like all of you. Grn14 as much as we don't really get along, you crack me up once in a while...and for all the pains we usually have those moments are worth it. But it's like I've been here what close to a year now and except for a couple very rare examples none of you have got to know me.

Fact 1) I could not duplicate a loft up the on ramp via stock or my wannabe flash.
Fact 2) I have my flies open so I may have lost the loft in the lower end kind of mechanical snorkel. Removed the intake silencer on one bike and you lost wheeling over the intersection upon accel.
Fact 3) I think the tires are on, the flash is back, the camera battery is charged, forfucksakes what in the fuck are you waiting for? The weekend? WOT's today?

The hair on the back of my neck is starting to prickle.
Vic Says.."when it comes to asking about advice or product opinions and reviews on this forum, the question is rarely addressed as it is asked"...uh,sometimes,people see or hear things their OWN way...and post up what they think.Something posted about something else may appear as 'not addressing' an issue exactly. But someone else reading that post may get exactly what they need.Depends on your perspective and expectations. This forum has the most well rounded group of experienced guys I've ever read. How many times does someone post.."You know,I never realized that" or something along those lines.Like the clutch thread.Look at all the comments in there...all valuable. If a guy needed his clutch fixed,he could at least have SOMETHING to present to a dealer, instead of walking in and saying.."IDK WTF it's doing...here,you fix it"....my.02
I've gotten so many insights here from seemingly 'random' posts by everyone...regardless of the topic.
BTW...there's PLENTY of actual..."professionals' on here...the only difference is..they're not getting paid. But the caliber is there. You have to want to have an open mind.

Well Vic, I'm just getting to know you now and I must say We are off to one hell of start.
Friends are usually made through mutual likes or dislikes. Assistance in a project or just small talk often lead to making a new online friend.
With that being said, if a helpful thought was sent your way it should be considered a friendly gesture. Not a opportunity to establish a instant Go Fuck Yourself Return Message joined with whatever cheap shots that can be added in. Of course I know you know this and were just being who you are. Good insight for all of us was just provided.
Vic I know you don't know me so let me tell you, I have been a Mechanic for 28 years, I'm Not Totally stupid. So how about you cut me and others here some slack. 90% of us here just try and Help so take it all with a Grain of salt. That Attack button of yours can be put away. Not Needed.
You know from my post I was only offering help that you clearly needed. Dirt claims the life of bearings. The spacer keeps the seal. This is your protection. Your pics clearly show wheel with open bearing face up. Gravity takes your dirt shown directly into the rollers. 3 months down the road, failure. If you don't care that's fine. Had you told me something like this I would have investigated the situation under your recommendation. Just because.
Now polish the spacer edge that rides against the seal and get that put back in there. Second Lightly lube the seal edge for the matting surface or in 3 months I get to say I told you so. We most definitely want that lol
BTW people...lol when I said give them little nuts a twirl,
Now see that was Good Advice. I did as you suggested, at times have to the wifey our independence Lol
