Hello all!
My name is Brady, I'm 37 years old and I live in Southern California, in the Mojave Desert just outside of Edwards Air Force Base (where the Space Shuttle lands in CA). I currently work on Edwards Air Force Base for a contractor that has a government contract at NASA/DFRC. I have worked on Edwards for just over 10 years. I'm an Electronics Technician. I work on Radar and Telemetry systems, I basically track the test aircraft, collect the data and ship it off to the Engineers.
I grew up in South Dakota, right outside of Sturgis. I remember all the bikes coming to town in the summers for the Sturgis Bike Week in the late 70's. I thought that seeing all those bikes roar up and down the freeway was so cool! I wanted a motorcycle ever since then.
We moved to So. Cal in the late spring of 1984. My father was in the Air Force, so we had to pack up and leave. When my father retired from the AF in 1992, I stayed here and my parents left the area. Growing up in the desert, was not all dirt bikes and ATC. We got our first and only dirt in 1986, it was a 1978 RM250. My father bought it from this guy that told him was a great bike and that he never had any problems with it... My Father was not a bike guy but a good Aircraft mechanic, he good never get that bike running right and he sold it!
So, I'm here in the desert no bikes, I graduated high school, got a job and meet my wonderful, loving wife. We married and we had 1 son together. My wife already had 2 kids from another marriage that went south. I became a Dad of three wonderful kids!
Fast forward to 2005! I bought my first bike since that RM250... I bought a 2005 Honda XR650L! I thought, why not have a dual sport in the desert! The best of both worlds. The bike was good for a few years and then I just out grew it. I bought my 2007 ZX14 in the summer of 2008. Since then I have put over 23,000 miles on it and a whole lot of fun. At the same time I bought my ZX14 my oldest son bought a 2008 GSXR750. He enjoyed it for a few months and about 2000 miles. Then he really didn't like it anymore and was going to sell it. The wife and I talked, and we bought the bike from him and it's now the wife's ride. We ride as much as we can together on the weekends!
Here is a pictures of the wife and I back in late January 2010,
