Wondering why KHI eliminated the lock on the R?

+1 on "lot easier than removing seat."

It must be part of cost cutting by Kawasaki to drop this from ZX14R gen 2.

The back plate, which is made for this bike, screws on the frame. It has an alignment pin which fits in a slot on the bike frame. Then screw the lock on the back plate. You can't acsess the screw with the lock in the closed position. I used the blue lock tight on the screws.

Wow, I didn't know Webike was available in US and they ship things to US.

"It has an alignment pin which fits in a slot on the bike frame. " Actually on 2014, you have to re-create the slot if you want to install an OEM lock. It is easy and the original slot is covered by the lock anyway.
