"After mounting new tires I put the wheels back on and rolled the bike backwards out of my garage. I pulled the front brake and nothing! We finally diagnosed the problem as a slightly bent rotor" ...LOL...you know yer supposed to pump any brake lever or pedal after removing said wheel, yes? That's the LAST and FINAL instruction in that there manual.

Your rotor musta been pretty warped to not allow ANY spot on it to grab;)

just checked with my local motorcycle superstore where I ordered the brake master cylinder internal piston and seals. Backordered for another two weeks. Then I tried to order a brand new master cylinder complete, also back ordered, but for even longer......

the bike is running and braking fine with my alternative "spare" brake system, the only thing now on the bike of the front brakes that were on the bike when the incident happened are the brake discs. The bike has not yet again been run at the speed it hopefully will see on the salt, though.

I am thinking it likely wouldn't hurt to drill some air flow holes in a stock front brake lever, but before I do that I am going to do a bit of research on what the GP bikes use.

Okay...your 'alternative' system is fine. That narrows it to the master.Just an aside here...why not take her out and give er a go about the headshake thing?See if that's still happening. We know now it can't be the hydraulic system. Can you get the front up off the ground? In a stand I mean. You COULD do a mcgyver deal as Hub has.Tape a pencil or something you can visually look at the tip as the rotor spins.See if you notice any warping. My bet you're not gonna see any problem.

no problem strapping the bike down on my lift with the front wheel in the air, and no problem putting a dial indicator on the the discs as they rotate. IF the discs are an issue I also have a spare pair of those. Will report back.

it will be the weekend before I get a chance to do another high speed run and see if the head shake has disappeared.

This procedure was completed as you describe, the bike was then rolled backward's thus the warped rotor pushed back the pistons during the backward roll out of the garage. I had a positive lever after reinstalling the wheel. I am sorry if i failed to mention that earlier.
