this may seem like a stupid question but I wont know if I don't ask right? I took off my front and rear peg brackets put some aircraft paint remover on them and then polished them with a buffer til they shine like almost chrome. My question is this...can I do the same with my clutch cover? drain the oil from my bike remove the clutch cover put some aircraft paint on it and buff the shit out of it? will it come out looking like my peg brackets did? has anyone done this to their 14? again I know probably a stupid question but just wanted to ask someone before I just went and did it to my 3 week old bike. thanks in advance for any input on this.

good question. never heard of anyone trying that. i don't have an answer for you but you might check Ebay for a used cover and try it.

I doubt that the stock ZX14 clutch cover will buff out to the kind of shine I think you're after but I bet you could get it chrome-plated.

I doubt the threads to the oil filler hole have any coating on them. Unscrew your cap and have a look at what color the metal is. That should give you some idea.

Colorright makes a frame /engine color if you need to repaint it. M
