Scott-no extra harness.Ballast and igniter, and bulb harness. And no-no heat issues with mine at all. There is a "slight" adjustment though when using the h9"s for all four lamps. If I'm not mistaken, the center sockets(low beam sockets)are NOT QUITE the same design as the high beam socket(or it's the bulbs themselves?).The three tabs on your stock bulbs are slightly different between the two.The high beam H9 tabs have to be trimmed just barely on one of the tabs(the long tab),I had to cut just a bit off so the tab would fit securely and rotate in as they're supposed to on the low beam socket. No big deal.Just used some sharp wire cutters and snipped the tab length to be like the others.

I can say the 10 K will NOT be as bright as your lower K's.It's gonna be way more bluish.I rode with my 6K's at night-ONCE.Unfortunately,they were not correctly adjusted-and I didn't feel comfortable riding here with all the deer and stuff. But mine were extremely bright and white.Had they been adjusted "up" some, they'd have been perfect-VERY wide peripheral shine. And with em adjusted right, the low beams would hit way out in front with plenty of light. No dark areas in front of my bike anywhere.

If you guys don't care about seeing the road in front of you, by all means get as high K temp as you wish.
For me, I used the 5k and they are very blue, too blue for my liking but they are as bright as I wanted them to be. I do care about seeing the road so that's why I leaned towards the whitest bulb. Using 10 or 8K is like reducing the light output by half. It's a great cool factor but are people really going to see you better with lower power output of high K bulbs.

i mounted 2 of the ballasts up in front of the windscreen like someone else had pictured on here and the other 2 i mounted with the double sided tape to the outside of ram air tubes

Since I just bought the new system I was wondering, with HIDs in both the high and low beams what is the optimal beam adjustment. is it two or three rotations of the set screw? I understand that the high and low beams are controlled from the same screw and can't be independantly adjusted?

Cold weather gloves-you might go with a heated pair.I bought a set of Liners and the temp controller, and pigtail-$169.00 for all-"CozyWinters.com" As good as Gerbings.I bought the liners(med). They're snug, but not too tight. If you have a LARGE hand,go with the large size. With the liners, you can wear with any "large"glove.Very nice.Gerbings are like $200.00+ dollars. As far as headlamp adjustment-they will have to come up on both sides some. And the center bolts for the horizontal I would recommend going "out"some on both sides. You'll only get a true look-see at where they're actually lighting at night on the road.It will be difficult to adjust just lining up on your garage wall or something like that. They're going to be quite BRIGHT at night-way different than your stockers. The hi/low bulbs will not move independantly-no.

ok was able to get the bike out finally for the last 2 days (since installing HID's) and put some miles on her. for those of you that like the bluer hid's but are afraid the 10,000k's wont be bright enough, i am here to tell you yes they are bright enough when you have cagers flashing thier brights at ou on bright sunny days cause your blinding them i'd say they must be bright and they definatley know your there....lol

Ok..got my HID's in today from DDM. I ordered two kits for both high and low beams (h9 & h11). But now, I can't figure out which is which! All bulbs look exactly the same and can find no markings on any of them that indicate bulb type. So...how do I tell which set is h9 and which is h11?

They should be separated into two boxes. One HIGH,one LOW(in the same box if I recall correctly). It will say on the inner box which bulb it is.Then-your H9's are High beam-they go on the outer sockets.DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS AT ALL.And when you first fire them up-allow them to stay on at least 3 or 4 minutes.Use care when installing those bad boys-you don't want to CRACK the "plug" going into the actual lamp by twisting TOO HARD.(the two wires in the little plastic black thingy).Put it in there(don't scratch the glass on the metal lens socket)and gently turn until you feel it "catch".Then you can just give er a reverse little try and make sure she's not in there loose. It should kinda "click"(but not really a click)when it seats all the way turned in.You'll feel it catch.DON'T TURN ANY FURTHER!!

Do your bulbs have a BLUE and RED wire coming off of them?If so,there SHOULD be a label attached to the one wire telling you what it is.Also a PLASTIC SOCKET FITTING,with METAL TABS on it.Is yours like that? Both bulbs of the same "type"(say,h9)should have the label on the wire.Don't know about the H11.Probably the same deal.

Dis is crazy.
The wires have no labels attached indicating what the bulb type is. Also, I've reviewed the DDM tuning bulb guide at https://www.ddmtuning.com/content/techtips/bulbguide_low.pdf and even from their pictures the H9 and H11 look identical. Perhaps a dimple here, a spot there is different but they look the same. By looking very closely at the bulbs, one of the sets looks like (maybe?) the filament is a teensy bit wider than the other on but, again, it's hard to tell. If that's the only way to tell the difference is it safe to assume that the one with the wider filaments are the hi's?
I may have to call DDM on this one...
I feel like an idiot now for taking them out of their boxes the way I did, but when I took them out, I didn't notice any of the markings on the boxes...
