radiator fan broke , brought the bike into the shop on the 23rd of june ,was told that the fan would be in canada on july 6th (coming from Japan) and that I would get it overnight to get me back on the road as fast as possible. Its july 12 and still no part. Yesterday I bought a fan from corybusa(on this forum) and will probably have it by wednesday. So the question is why did I get the extended warranty for 900 dollars if my bike is going to be off the road for just about 3 weeks. I talked to customer service this morning and they got pissed that I bought a fan online and that I overrode their goodwill gesture of overnighting the part. Just needed to vent , I do all my own work so I don't know how you guys get by depending on the dealer for parts, I try to keep all the consumable spares on hand so I don't have to hear those famous words "sorry its not in stock".

Unfortunately its the way of the world no one stocks parts anymore because they see it as an overhead and capital expense and if they just have these things lying around its dead money to them....... I think it sucks arse when the bastards then hit you up for an axtended warranty knowing full well they actually cant provide a half way decent service to back it up with.... I know went through the whole thing with the seal on my water pump!!!! I go down to the dealer who purchased the bike through he then informs me oh yeah we have had a few of these going lately no big problem. So I said well you should have a new seal here ready to go then hahahahahaha yeah right 4 weeks later. I jumped up and down said my peace but to no avail it just falls on deaf ears they are all the same no matter where in the world you are

That is the industry standard. You spoiled brats of yesteryear with a bike that will not change for 10 years, so sure, stock those till they turn obsolete on the 11th hour. So, a one franchise dealer starts out with small singles, twins, inline/flat/V-4's and where tell me do you put the dealer just getting by with about the same salary as you when the day is done.

Would I waste that cash flow buying obsolete or order when needed. Dealer is keeping the door open paying the phone bills, payroll, floor loan that bike is sitting like an obsolete part and he is stuck holding that bank note to pay back with interest.

We send the dealer under the bus yet? Counter help pushing that order for you if s'he is ordering every other lawnmower, snow blower, jet ski, snow cat attack at the counter take a number. There you are with the guy next to you is working the back, needs a load of parts to service or crash this list of parts to be ordered.

Guy in the back is thrown under the bus, no parts for that job. Off it goes in a box. Call the customer, tell them to take a number... Oh, and while the guy heard the roach coach, was to choke on the cable that missed getting ordered is wait till you try to start that puppy is he got his hot dog an condimentsanshithough.

Parts counter guy/gal colesterols up to the coach where was I and orders your part next round is another day lost, then more days waiting once again are you in the parts cycle of good will you get it right the first time could be more mistakes between bike and parts page are people in between rolling that bike out of the shop.

Best way out of that mess is do it yourself as in, In'house.

Hub the dealer was great it was kawasaki canada , I understand what you are saying. I've been a good customer since I've moved here 9yrs ago, bought 3 new bikes and recomended many people their direction, used to buy all parts there and was treated well, until this past year when they stopped giving me a discount so I started to shop around, only a fool would pay full price(or inflated price but will match another dealer) if he didn't have to. I usually stock my own consumables (oil, filters, o-ring, exhaust gaskets, brakes, etc.)because I got tired of "we have to order it".
