Thanks for the responses guys. I use centre stands a lot when out touring, both for tyre repairs / chain adjustments etc but also you can usually squeeze some more fuel in the tank when its up on the stand. I don't there's anyone does a better stand than BMW, they must have a whole department specifically to design them, they're that good. But some bikes are that bad you may as well not even have it. Glad to here that a stand on the 14 will be useable, now I just have to find one at a reasonable price!

Thanks again

Bill

Wouldn't the Connie 14 center stand bolt up?-Mach IV

No the spring and bumper bracket are on the opposite side.

Centerstands are also good for wheel removal, tire changes, front suspension work (fork oil changes) rear suspension swaps as well as chain lube/adjustments.

Actually the Connie stand does work. You need to buy the spring peg mount from Kaw, drill and tap a hole in the frame on the left side of the bike, ( I looked at a Connie to get the approximate location) and screw the mount in.Everything else lines up. If you have an aftermarket exhaust you may have to buy stand stop bracket from Brocks to keep the stand from going up too high and hitting the chain. I got a Connie stand off e bay for $20, complete with bolts and spring.

I installed the OEM center stand on my 2008 ZX14. It has Apex slip on pipes, so I used the Brock center stand stop. It took about 2.5 hours, but I am an old guy. Pretty easy for the most part.
