Different culture, different color of oil
10/29/14 6:34 PM

I was surfing some of ZX14R web pages created by Japanese owners. One of them had "How to" and explained the oil change procedure. The color of oil is green and looks more like long life coolant. Wow! Here in US, oil is usually transparent-brown. I searched bit more and found out in Japan green oil is considered "high end". This guy is using Kawasaki OEM oil.

Apparently Kawasaki Oil sold in Japan is produced by Elf oil (France). 1 Liter bottle is not plastic but metal.

Full synthetic but MA certified only (the latest is MA2?).

And it is amazingly green

I thought Redline motor oils were red or reddish too, not quite as purple as RP though.
