Tall Riders
02/08/16 5:17 PM

So I really like my 07 zx14. Great power looks etc..i can go on and on. But being im a tall rider i wouldnt mind being a little bit more comfortable on it.

Im 6'7" and was wondering what other tall riders did to fit on the bike better??

I tried rearsets but ended up going back to stock. I've considered having the seat reshaped to allow me to have more leg room but was not sure how well that would pan out.

Again any advice would be helpful.

I'd suggest adding an inch or so of padding to the seat and lowering the pegs about the same.
I'm guessing you don't need to alter bar position... guessing cause I'm a short shit...:)
Here's a link to a site that shows you the ergonomics of stock bikes and you can alter from there.

Hmm..good advice. Didnt consider adding material but i see your logic. Helps reduce how much my knees are bent.

What about adding material and moving the seat area back some. Would that be possible?

Thanks. Lastly, how would you propose moving the pegs down an inch?

I'm 6'6" I bought buell foot pegs and was able to lower them , so much so that I scratched my new Brooks exhaust , so I had to raise the rt side a lil but I feel good on my 2013 14r, the seat thing is something to think about,

There's a couple different ways listed by increasing price:
Buell pegs which I've used before.
Corbin makes a set of adapters which I have.
Twisted Throttle and Wild Hare Accessories both sell adjustable pegs.

Rearsets are mostly geared to raising the pegs for more cornering clearance so NG for you.

I'm 6'3" I put a 1" bar riser on. Haven't needed to do anything with my pegs. Bike is pretty comfy like this so far.

6'6" here. 37 inch inseam. i tried the buell pegs but i like to turn and they dragged too much. i have the genmar bar risers and thats it now. 44000 mile and always comfortable. i guess my legs just got used to being bent!! i have thought about getting a corbin with an extra inch of height though....

Dave, did you remove the curb feelers from the Buell pegs?

You might try a Concours 14 seat. All years of C14 from 2008-2016 are an exact fit and are about 1" taller than the ZX-14 stock seat. It's also quite a bit more comfortable! I use one on my ZX-14 and it works great.

6' 3" here. Knight Design lowered pegs, tube bar kit (similar to LSL) and a taller, augmented windscreen. A thicker seat pad will yield more legroom, but will also put you up higher in the airstream. '06-'07 bikes have pretty soft suspension from the factory, so stiffening up with different springs helps keep lowered pegs from becoming a ground clearance issue.

Have you sat on a 2015 Concours? Kawasaki changed the foam and cover. I added the optional 2015 Kawasaki Concours touring seat to my Ninja. I have a Hip flexor (pinched nerve) and the added height of this seat completely eliminated the problem.
I also use the Buell foot pegs. I replaced the Buell's long feeler bolt with a short screw. It has never dragged.
I also added 2" worth of spacers under each handlebar and the Zero Gravity touring shield.
6'7" is almost too tall for any factory motorcycle.
My post covering the Kawa touring seat........
