There's quite a few cars that'll beat 2.7 seconds, even 10 years ago.

Before your criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you do criticize them, you're a mile away and have their shoes.

"The Exorcist" Camaro

Chevy's 1000hp answer to the Demon.

I kid you not.

Most of those 0-60 times are based on paper numbers. Very few drivers can ever actually acheive them. Only under the most perfect circumstances can even professional drivers acheive those perfect numbers. And pretty much at least in something about 1/4 mile unless it's a 9 second car a 14rs going to pull ahead anyway.

There are already other bikes with publsihed faster 0-60 times but none have acheive the best published 1/4 mile times of 14Rs. The real threat to us, at least in those terms are the electric bikes like the LS218. 168 ft lbs of torque at 0 rpm, and very close to 100 lbs lighter stock vs stock. As much as we enjoy our big 1400 cc torque curve...this makes our 14s look like tricycles. But that comes at a price, LS218s are close to $40 grand. For what it's worth, my 14R is fast enough.

Alas, the electric vehicles will keep getting better and more affordable. I'm not going down that road. I'm going to be one of those old guys saying, "remember the days of gasoline motorcycles? We used to work on our bikes. They had moving parts. Now all they do is change tires and batteries."

I would/will. Electric stuff is incredible for performance. The only option I won't go for is fake bullshit engine noises. Less moving parts, better reliablity? Yes yes. There's still a lot they need to sort out really it'll be at least a decade or two until pure electrics are main stream.
