Lucas, Here is a generic list of services buying a used 14.

1. Change Coolant - Every 2 years.
2. Change DOT fluid - Every 2 years.
3. Change oil and filter - Every 3000 miles.
4. Change air filter element - Every 12,000 miles or earlier.
5. Lube drive chain = Every 300 - 500 miles.
6. Valve clearance inspect - Every 26,000 miles.

Spark plugs 7500 miles/12km

Unless you are extremely familiar with this bike I recommend following the service manual processes. By familiar I mean knowing the service manual process by memory. Exceptions are specific Kawasaki tools or fluids, in which aftermarket may have better/cheaper/available parts.

Another good resource is this forums How-To section. Long time member Rook is probably the master of How-tos, but a lot of us have contributed a how-to now and then.

Thanks Vic. That one escaped me. In fact, right now I'm installing new plugs. Lost my short 1/4" extension somewhere between the radiator and head bootie. Being the hoarder I am, saved an electric toothbrush that had a magnet attached to it. Kept biting off the mounting ring so it would fit down plug hole, then snipped the brush off short enough so it would swing under the frame and head. Worked great.

Man, if that digital feel to it comes back just by changing the plugs, I'll know it no fluke.
