Yeah, so many great ideas but somehow they just never really caught a big enough slice of the market. It has never been a popular brand. heck, I didn't even know they were here in East Troy! Me and fredzx are planning a ride out there this weekend. it will be the farewell to Buell ride, I guess.

Dear Mr. Buell,

I am writing to you as your typical JoeA of the world. We of the world like modern, competitive bikes to buy. Your effort in the racing ranks; ranks as pretty much dead last. Napkin engines are all powerful if we were in a V-twin world-single brake mentality.

It's not that your saving weight and all that, it's how you save the weight. If the front brake was the cat's meow, would not the rest of the field follow suit? I guess that one brake is not stopping a no hp bike. That too says, where are the other 2 cylinders if you are not building a pennygollyG it's no duc that's for sure.

In closing... [your doors] again is deja vu all over again; you pick up a piece of scratch paper and tinkle out another twin, you have yet to learn it's not your bike per say, but the people's bike and they like 4 cylinders. These are the minimum and the front brakes have dual disc or until someone comes along and out dives your brake setup, retain the lawyer once again, you are not listening to the public your customer(s).

Signed,

NOLTT

Hi, nice to meet someone who worked for Eric. So how long did you work there? A few years was the first time Eric tried selling bikes. So didn't you mention to get rid of the front brake and follow the tech? Welllll... Eric is very stubborn about his bikes and designs. Ah, that's the problem. Was Eric a decent employer to work for? Oh yeah, he's the best, just likes his bike his way and he's focused on that, we couldn't change his ways.

Harley speculation:
Where here at, 'Don't Give 2shits' if some of thishit is made up; so herley, why buy the company? We thought it being a twin, we can't come up with anything new; so we tried Eric's brand; and when it wouldn't sell; we began to copy the trendy city chopper look; sprayed our old models industrial flat black; and they are flying out the door! And when you bought Eric's plan you also said not to manufacture/sell bikes for how many years? We didn't see if they were not selling when we bought it why let the guy pen a new bike; it's the same vision out the ass of the same guy; we should have kept that clause out. How come I saw it and you didn't and you are the big manu.

What are your plans now, Eric? Well, I guess I'll head over for some lunch. Sit at the counter, grab a napkin... No Eric... Not another twin? Why, you read my mind. Guess what the front wheel carries? Day say vu is 3 times the charm!

Yes, I often wondered why the hell not copy what is working for jap bikes and keep what is working for Buell's? Seems to have turned out to be a great approach for BMW. Seems too simple maybe? A lot of times the simplest approach is best. I do love that rim rotor front brake though. Don't know how they work but sure seems like it had potential to be a great improvement on standard discs. Also love the fuel in frame/oil in swing arm ideas. short wheelbase and centralized mass. Keep all that good stuff but just go to a 4 cylinder for pete's sake. I don't know about the rubber band drive belt. I think Harley must have made him do that. Hope he's back soon. There goes another 100 jobs in beertown. What a shithole this place is.

No doubt clever engineering approaches. Pound for pound, will a single disc out-brake say the H2 front end slips under the Buell frame and now stop the puppy. Who has the shortest distance? I won't go into the torque values being way off probably to match the front row.

That brings the riders home too. That's Larry Pegram with no ride and the other rider. And if you believe the psycho BS, crossed arms says no one messes with my napkin, bridge closed, don't need your opinion, my project, my money, my build.

I think we should leave the V twins to Ducati, I hope he learns this time, there is so much
more to building a competitive bike, even a street bike, let alone a race bike, I mean these
things were blowing engines left and right at ama and other venues ...

and even if you get the motor right, how about handling ? these other companies have been doing
this since the 60's or earlier, did he really think he was going to compete with their quality ?

Harley had to go to Porsche to get the V-rod, and that thing is still a dog ...

Eric Buell should have used Suzuki V-twin engines, both 650 and 1000. I used to ride SV1000 and it was a great bike except the weak suspension. The engine was really sweet and unlike the Harley engine its gear shifting was butter smooth. Suzuki V-twin with dual front disk brakes and improved suspension. I would buy something like that.

I'm looking at the duc monster and the guy says my twin cylinder ape is faster. I heard that, Eric, collaborate with rotax neck time you paper up.

Off topic, but I have wondered the possibility of building/racing an import V twin
to compete in NHRA pro stock, since the hardley ablesons started cheating and all but
neutered the in line four imports ...

Only problem is byron hines, he's a great builder, unfortunately, he's using his talents
for those hardlys .....

Yep Erik's bikes were nice looking (after they split). But the market for sportbikes isn't such that premiums are really deserved. Harley's are over priced in my world, and that model doesn't work for sportbikes.

"Chapter 128" basically say I stay open, help me pay off my debt I keep the business afloat to pay as I blow more out the door. That's why Team Pegram continues in WSB for the season as if nothing is happening, basically speaking [chap128].

True, I remember Paul SR. from american choppers doing something similar, he CLAIMED
bankruptcy so he could negotiate (screw) the bank out of money for the new building ...

Not a big fan of banks, BUT if you sign a contract, you should abide by it, not hide
money, so you can screw the bank out of money to get your new building ....

Never liked Sr. hes a dick. plain and simple.

Was in East Troy yesterday with fredzx14. Not a Buell to be seen anywhere. Looked like a non-event. Oh well, we had a fun ride.
