Bazzaz in the House
05/16/12 12:03 PM

What up fellow Kawi riders. I actually don't own a ZX14, I've got two ZX6-Rs, but I work for Bazzaz in the R&D dept. and I'm here to serve as tech support in case anyone has any questions about fuel control, quickshift, and traction control. I'm also a Kawi freak, they're the only bikes I've ever owned, so I'll talk team green all day long :D

Your 5 minutes are up. No searching on the net. This is a trick question.

Ammar owns his own business (which I work for) and is the Data Analyst and Tuner for the National Guard Jordan Suzuki AMA Superbike team.

Hey, my name is Jason and as I said in my intro thread I'm and R&D tech for Bazzaz. We need to bring in a 2012 ZX14R to develop a system on. So if you're in the SoCal area (we're in Chino Hills) and you can let us borrow your bike for a week or so, then we'll give it back to you with one of our Z-Fi fuel controllers installed with a custom map made for your bike. We would much prefer a bike that is completely stock, except for a slip-on exhaust.

If you've got any more questions or if you're interested in the offer, shoot me an email: jason@bazzaz.net

Now you're credible.

ZT,

Think of yourself as techline. As if you had bike in hand, meaning. Explain to the house the joe-generics of the exhaust pop. Hop on over to the Q&A section. Find the "Pop" thread. In the basics, explain to ROOK how the pop got there, how you remove it in [#?] how many ways to approach the pop removal with your Z-unit(s)? I do not know your product names or how they work.

Hey, I kind of understand how busy you are chasing new product changes if you have no time being here. If you are here chasing a fresh bike locally, buy all means, have at it. However, I hear good things about your boss' is product. I don't think any dynojet fans will mind at all about the generics of the product. They both have to follow the rpm and all the basics that go with it. If someone does complain, well, there is your feedback that needs addressing with the customer or is it the product needing a tweak?

That popping question could use a little cleaning up. Care to take a crack at it? Explain the BAZ'settings and how you would take the 14R in hand and begin the process? I have interpreters here if you didn't catch my drift to the Q&A section.

Thanks, ZT. Well said. Maybe things will simmer down some. That is the kind of tech answer(s) I'm talking about.

What up Ztech.. I know this thread is 8 months old but i have a question. Do u know how difficult it is to install a bazzaz on a 2009 zx14? Also which would u say is better to have the quickshifter or the traction control that I can get with the Bazzaz system? thx for any responses..

Installation on the ZX14 is kind of a pain because the frame goes over the motor and it's not very easy to get to the injector connectors. Prepare to scrape your knuckles and swear a lot. As for your second question, our traction control kits come with the quick shifter components as well, so if you buy a Z-Fi TC you get fuel control, quick shift, and traction control. So you don't need to decide between the two, just if you want both or just the QS. I like having both, but you will need aftermarket rear sets for the QS set-up.

Ztech after the Bazzaz is installed is it hard or complicated to change the maps?

Our software is very easy to use, so the actual process of loading in a new map or altering the existing one is easy. But to actually tune without the use of the Z-AFM and a dyno involves a lot of trial and error. If you have a dyno but no Z-AFM it's not too hard to get your bike dialed in, just a little time consuming. The esiest way to tune your bike is with the use of our Z-AFM, either on a dyno or on the track.

Just hanging out, Wolfy. I'm back and forth building a chopper. So lots of running around, lots of time consuming ideas to come up with like partial steel brake lines, a brake switch idea, throttle cable ideas you be working on an old Linkert carb.
