Totally normal. That's very low miles. It may start to run a little bit cooler as it breaks in. I wouldn't count on much. Full system exhaust will reduce the temp some. It's just a hot running engine.

Perhaps you are aware of this but for anyone reading who might not be, letting the fan run after shutting down the engine won't cool the engine off. If the coolant isn't circulating, it can't cool anything but the radiator.

I've seen 5 bars on mine. I have seen 6 bars a couple times and I think I even saw the overheat icon come on the meter a few minutes after shutting down when the bike was very new. Never had an overflow.

Wait until summer sets in. Trust me on the full system exhaust.

If you're referring to the rubber piece over the top of the valve cover, it's there to dampen valve train noise and keep engine heat from heating the fuel any more than necessary. It has no effect on engine or coolant temperature, since that all takes place within the water jackets and radiator.

I removed mine from the air box and the engine. No difference that I can tell.

Miket, at anything below 40 mph my fan is on and my bars are at at least 4 if not 5. I've ridden it in 90+ temps and it's always the same. Never had an overflow, never had a warning. It's good to go.

Mine rus on the highway about 3-4 bars. 2 if it is cold weather in springtime. I still might see 5 on a hot day 90° F if I am in stop and go traffic. That's with full system. That made it run almost a bar cooler in most situations.

After the build on my bike, my bike ran considerably hotter, although it never actually "overheated".
I then decided to add an auxiliary cooling fan, it made a huge difference.
Florida's summers' high heat and high humidity are very hard on motorcycles and riders both.
