Hello all, I just purchased a new 2014 zx14r a week ago, I could not be happier. As a big guy I almost submitted myself to buying a cruiser for comfort. I sat on a Busa and felt like i was doing pushups the bars were way to low for me. Then I took in the glory that is the zx14r. I cannot make myself get off the thing, any chance I get I am going for a ride! One week exactly and already taking it tonight for the 600 mile service!

If you want to make the bars a little bit higher you can get bar risers that raise the bars about an inch. I got mine off of ebay for around $50

Thanks for the welcome Rook, Fredzx14, VicThing, and Maddevil, I appreciate it! Maddevil, the bars are comfortable enough for now, risers are one of the items on my list, we will see after my 600 mile ride next week how I feel about the bars. As is always the first order of business with a new sport bike, fender eliminator is already ordered, and pipes are being researched. I want something deep and throaty (as much as that is possible on a Kawi) but not wake the neighbors loud.

I have a 87 ZL1000 that has a D&D pipe with baffles removed. I love the sound and rumble it gives but it appears they no longer make sport bike pipes. I think i am leaning towards 2 brothers or Muzzy. Cant wait to start my mods!
