Hey guys I'm planning on a cross country ride this summer. My buddy and I will ship our bikes to CA hit highway 101 and route one to Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Kansas,Missouri, Kentucky, West Virginia, Delaware,penn n home back to CT.

If you have any road you know of that are must hit roads in any of these states please let me know....thanks for the feed back guys! cheers!

Somefun, Hwy 101 is mostly boring unless you are talking about the northern part above Cloverdale. Hwy 1 is awesome from San Luis Obispo to Eureka, but has a fair share of traffic on weekends. If you are going to be coming through the San Francisco Bay Area let me know. You are welcome to stay at our place and if you have a free day I'll take you to the World famous Alice's Restaurant along with some real nice roads we have around here.

Sounds awesome Mad thanks! Originally I was thinking we would ship the bikes to CA and ride them home but now I'm thinking maybe we ride them from CT out and then ship them back... That might be more fun. Route one does look awesome for sure! We have to ride that. Most likely try to hit it during the week if we can.

GRN the way my buddy with his Busa and I ride it just might happen lol. We're good for the most part but with trying to get that many miles in in a short time we try to cruise at like 80 to 90....oh and the occasional bursts up to 150 ??.

I have ridden Independence Pass in central Colorado, it goes between Aspen and the Buena Vista /Leadville area.

The pass is great riding, but Aspen is not very biker friendly. Snotty, elitist, full of tourons. The small towns on the East side of the pass are much more laid back and friendly. I would recommend zipping up to Leadville, then back through Buena Vista after coming down.

Once you get to highway 24 on the East side you can follow that to Colorado Springs and the Denver area. Very pleasant ride along 24.

Not much to see in Nevada. I would recommend Death Valley -> Utah (Monument Valley and other areas) and to Colorado. The southern Utah is one of the best area in US for sight seeing ride.

Lots of roads in West Virginia! 39 E/W between Hwy 81 and 219! Fun twisties, then ride through The George Washington and Jefferson National Forests for the scenery.
