Hmm I still don't understand what you mean about it having slop. It's not an interference fit, I do get that. Even a hex driver has some slop. I don't crank the T-handle down like I'm tightening lug nuts. I snug it up and it's good to go, usually about 1/2" (now). Once that's done it's locked in there, and has basically seated into the hole on both sides, cranking it down 2" doesnt do anything probably probably put excuess stress on the stand.

Once you've attached the right side of the stand, the fitting should be a tad loose, but unble to come out of the hole (1/8" play?). Turning the T handle about 1/2" to no more than 3/4", you're ready to lift the bike. The pins should be snug into where the screw head (right) or hole (left) receive the pins. That's all that needs to be concerned with.

Put the front lift attachments on and raised the front end today

Works and seems stable, but I was at first nervous as that's a lot if weight teetering on those two fittings and the the spool on the swing arm

The difficulty in getting the front end up by yourself probably varies from bike to bike.

As I see the physics of it, if your pivot point (where the bike would balance perfectly) is farther from the swing arm axle than other bikes, the bike is going to be harder to get a front end up

on the 14R I have the bike in a small room for storage so I Had to have the fiancé help me get it on the front lift the first time

With other bikes with balance points that are closer to the swingarm axle (where the stand has its bite on the bike), one person can probably merely push down on the tail section and pull the strap as demonstrated in their video. But on 14R, not without help or until I get more practice in a bigger room!

If you were to use some of the ratcheting tiedowns straps you could raise the front and all alone with no problem...at least it would seem more doable than using the strap it comes with

Here's the front stand I use with my ABBA. I have the front lift option for the ABBA stand but find this quicker and it does the job. Love the ABBA stand and have been using mine since 2008.
