Anyone ever try it with a Corbin seat? It appears the Gen 2 cowl does not fit properly with a Corbin so I was thinking that maybe a Gen 1 cowl might fit better. I guess I could buy one and try it but I could probably not return it.

Or maybe to put it better, has anyone installed their Gen 1 cowl on their Gen 1 bike and if so, how did it fit?

I have a Gen 1 cowl on my Gen 2.
I had a seat custom made for my Gen 1 at Sargent and wanted to use it on my Gen 2.
Didn't work with the Gen 2 cowl so I bought a Gen 1 cowl and had it painted.
The fit is very acceptable although not perfect.
If you want to use the Gen 2 cowl, get a Gen 2 Corbin.
The seat you bought is a Corbin Gen 1 design.
I did a 700 mile day on one of them on my Gen 1 and loved the shape but it was a bit long for me and hard as a brick.

Thanks. Using the cowl would be nice but not worth selling the Gen 1 Corbin and buying the Gen 2 Corbin. How does the Gen 1 cowl fit on the Gen 1 Corbin, better than my Gen 2 cowl? Or maybe more importantly, will I be able to use the Gen 1 cowl on my 2014 at all?

Gen 1 cowl fits the Gen 1 Corbin with no problems...
That combo fits the Gen 2 bike with a small space at the very bottom of the seat.
Its been on my bike for 2 years now.
I'll email you a pic...see what you think.

Thanks much, just what I was looking for. I have an Ebony cowl on my 2014 but I do not think they had that color on the Gen 1 bikes. I could go with Orange as long as it is the same on the Gen 1 and 2 bikes.

I don't think the cowls are interchangeable.The two 'points' that go across the seat area at the ends are shaped differently from the Gen 1 to the gen 2.Pretty sure.Don't know if that change would affect fitment.Probably.They DID have the 2007 14 in EBONY.I bought one.So yeah,they do have that color on the 2007's.

Yeesh,just realized...you're talking a corbin replacement seat/cowl fitment.Sorry.IDK about any of that.

I looked at the Colorrite site and it does not appear that the 2014 Black was used in 2007. From what I could see my bike is Metallic Spark Black (and Orange) and not Ebony or other Black. However, I have wrong before (at least once) so if someone knows otherwise please let me know.

My bad..it was Diablo Black...which is ALMOST identical to Metallic Spark Black...virtually the same color.With a smidgen less 'metallic' flakes.

I bought some Chinese fairings and they came with gen 2 style rear. The cowl didn't fit my seat well. I got a gen 1 cowl and used it with the rear side pieces. It all fits and looks fine to me. But not perfect. Mainly the front of the rear side pieces where it slopes down on gen 2. My gen 1 cowl keeps going straight. So I think a gen 1 cowl will fit on gen2 rear. Not positive but pretty sure. I don't see a gen 2 cowl fitting a gen 1 rear though.
