Finally pulled the trigger on some mods!
03/09/15 10:13 PM

Well, I finally decided to pull the trigger on getting mods for my '11 ZX-14.

I'm getting the following:

Yoshimura R77 slip-on exhaust
Yoshimura Fender Eliminator
Stompgrip tank pad-clear
MRA Touring Spoiler screen
Competition Werkes GP Rider Pegs
Pazzo lever set in Kawasaki Candy Apple Green

Looking forward to getting them delivered so I can get them all installed! :D

gonna be cooler than ever! I like the look of TechSpeck over stomp grips but stomp grips are 2nd to none when it comes to grip.

stomp grips and a touring spoiler screen, you might want to rethink that combo. Other than touring wind screen sounds like a nice set up!

No NOS kit yet Wolfman, maybe in the future.

I'll post pics after I get everything installed! :)

They look so much better without the rear fender.

Your bike looks great and I think your MRA screen fits the package quite well. Have you had chance to test the screen to see if it offers more protection than the OEM screen? I'd be interested to know what you think as I intend to buy a screen and I like the looks of the MRA.

Thanks everyone! I love the mods so far. I can definitely feel some more grunt down low and the weight savings feels great too!

redboot, I wouldn't say that the MRA spoiler screen provides more protection from the wind, but it does help dissipate and spread out the airstream at speed enough that I don't feel as much of it against my helmet. With the stock windscreen the airstream was coming at me at helmet level unless I tucked in at highway speeds, but even tucked in the noise and buffeting was unpleasant. Now there is definitely less buffeting and less noise, but it is not gone completely.

I may also try a Puig Double Bubble at some point when funds allow.

Hi - new to the forum. I was hoping you could tell me how much louder the yoshis are compared to the stock cans. Did you have to remove the cat? Thanks!

The yoshis are not much louder than the stock cans with the silencer inserts installed, but it is louder than the stock cans. You can definitely tell when the silencer inserts are not installed too!

I did not have to remove the cats when I installed my Yoshi slipons. I believe the cat is in the header assembly and can only be removed if you do a full exhaust.

Hot damn! Nice choice on those mods, psychoninja. I really dig the Yoshimuras.

That's pretty sweet!
Put an exhaust system on your bike and you're considered a builder!

Yeah that's what I was thinking too!

Thanks Albertus, that sounds cool. I give you my permission to use my full-sized image on the website.
